The Queens P.O.V

To be a lady, I must not fidget yet as I sat properly I couldn't help but twiddle my fingers. As if God read my mind, my eagerness for something to come through my doors finally happened. My Royal guards bowed as they brought in my lovely daughter.

"My dear Catherine!" I stood up and spread my arms, waiting for her to be in them, to hold my daughter. However, she just struggled against the guards yet as they let her go, she only walked towards me.

I wrapped my arms around her and give a squeeze, Catherine did not return the hug. I spread apart in arm length just to get a better view of my princess. Her hair was all the same, long and sparking with a touch of brown. Her freckles just in the right places and her soft features ever so radiant, just like me.

I cupped her cheek," My Catherine, my little one, are you alright?"

She slowly looked up to me, her hair brushing aside and exposed her beautiful eyes, no wonder that no good of a man Jack fell so terribly for my little princess. But something was off about them, there was a sign of sadness.

"Whatever is the matter young lady? You should be celebrating! We have saved you from that devil that has kept you hostage! My God, I must avoid the awful thoughts of the terrible things he has done to you while you were all alone. My poor Catherine." I said.

Before Catherine piped up, a guard barged through the doors, running inside and said," My princess! He has-"

He finally took notice what was going on and pressed his lips together. I let go of Catherine and approach this guard. He bows apologetically in front of me.

"Mind finishing off your sentence?" I said, looking down at him.

His gaze met mine for a split second before fixing his gaze on Catherine. A worried expression crossed his features as he turned towards me again.

"One of the chefs of the kitchen has made a special dish for Catherine, my highness. Accept my apology, I did not mean to cause any wariness. My I borrow Princess Catherine for a moment my liege?" The guard's voice was steady yet wary.

I glance at Catherine, who only stood there not once uttered a word. She gripped her dress in one hand as the other was clenching and unclenching.

"If so only for a moment, I have much to talk about with my daughter who I have not seen for a year, you may do so." With that I waved my hand off to the guard as Catherine walked up to him and out the door.

Cathy's P.O.V

"Please, do not speak of such bad news, not now." I felt a pang in my heart and my palms sweating.

"I'm sorry my highness, your husband has escaped. He must of jumped out of the carriage while I wasn't looking.." Matthew said, the dungeon guard, and my only guard here I trust.

Jackie would never leave me, even as she was bound to be hanged she'll still be here thinking of a way to get us out of here. I was honestly surprised but so deeply hurt by his words, no...I must not think such small foolish things.

"Thank you, Matthew. I will return the favor with whatever you need." I said, turning to face him.

He raised his hand," No need princess, besides I might as well say that I've known Jackie since I can remember, we grew up with each other on the streets and even saved my sisters and I lives, so I own her everything."

My eyes widen,"You have known Jackie?"

He nods,"Very much and her brother as well, I was the one who helped them escape from the dungeon, buts that's our little secret." He winked at me.
