It rained. It wasn't the exciting rain that accompanied a thunderstorm. This time it was dreary and boring. We were locked inside all day and Ringo was growing restless. I couldn't blame him, though. So was I.

I joined Caleb, Timothy, and all of our parents for a movie in the living room. Klara played a board game in the kitchen with the twins. At one point I walked in and asked how it was going while I grabbed a soda.

"I'm kicking both of their butts!" Anna exclaimed excitedly.

"Good," I said. "They probably deserve it."

She laughed.

"Klara, why don't you tell Sadie how you dominated in the last round, though," Alice chimed in.

I looked at Klara, hopeful that she would put aside all of the tension between us. It seemed like the twins hadn't picked up on it yet and I wanted it to stay that way.

"Uh huh."

It wasn't exactly an epic story. Alice gave her a strange look. She gave me a strange look next.

"She's really concentrating," I lied. "She's probably just trying to plan her comeback so she can kick your butts again. I'd watch out if I were you two."

This seemed to work. Both twins jumped back into the game and completely ignored whatever awkwardness there may have been in the room. I took this as my chance to retreat back to the living room where I belonged.
