As usual, the fourth of July was quite the party for our two families. We did all of our usual things, with the exception of Klara and I taking a small walk by ourselves around the middle of the day.
We were taking Ringo for a walk to tire him out. Usually we'd tire him out so much that we would go down to the basement and plop down on the bed we bought him and fall asleep. He didn't like to be outside when we were doing fireworks. They seemed to scare him too much. It was only when he was really tired that he didn't seem to care as much. He could nap through it all.
While we were on out walk we did all of our usual things, kissing, holding hands, talking, but we also tried to start exploring each other a little more. Now while we kissed we also kept our hands busy. Though, to be honest, there's a heavy emphasis that needs to be placed on the word trying when it comes to our bodily exploration. It seemed we could barely lay a hand on each other before Ringo would tug on the leash again and almost pull us over.
Klara started to laugh when he actually succeeded. He pulled so hard trying to get at a squirrel that we both toppled over onto each other and Ringo managed to get away from us. Klara scrambled around trying to get back up onto her feet. Luckily the squirrel ran up a tree, so Ringo stayed near by and she was able to pick up his leash again.
"Maybe we should pick this back up when we're not babysitting the dog," she suggested.
I laughed and agreed. After that we took Ringo back to the house and left him alone to go take hisnap. The family was waiting for us to rejoin them again anyway.
