The show handles the sexualitzation of young teenage girls so well. The boys protectiveness of Monse never comes from an area of 'you're female and thus weaker'. They all know she'll lay any of their asses flat. It comes from the reality of them knowing that because she's now growing up the world and men have become more dangerous. They never state that she should dress differently etc they all place the blame rightfully on the men that unwantedly try to seek her attention.
