the use of gnomes as props on the show i believe was intentionally used to demonstrate the mexican legend of los duendes. when i was small, i was told that if you ever lost something, you'll never see it again because these gnomes would steal it away from you, there's also the leyenda that they would try to get children's attention in order to kidnap them. anyways all the scenes with the gnomies were I C O N I C!
