After Luke left down the stairs, I dropped my shoulders.

"Calum, what the hell?" I said, annoyed.  Calum said nothing and instead walked over and engulfed me in a bone crushing hug.

"I guess I was a little jealous," he mumbled.

"I don't know why," I sighed, looking up at him.

"You are so cold and closed off to me but you don't seem to have a problem with the boys," Calum said, pulling away.  He lay himself down on the couch and sprawled himself across the cushions.

"What are you talking about?"  I asked, confused.    I looked at him and took a seat on the couch beside him.  "You're the one that's been cold to everyone including your 'so called' friends!"  I said, my voice raising.  "And then you play it off like you did nothing wrong and it's me who messed it up?" I yelled.  "If someone's going to be pissed off it should be me!"  Calum shot up and stared into my eyes.

"I've been trying to get to know you, to show you that you can trust me, but you always push me away!" he yelled.  "Sometimes it's like I shouldn't even try to help you!  Since you always just act like nothing is a big deal to you!"  Calum was standing on his feet now, yelling with his hands up in the air.  I shrunk back and turned away from him.  Calum stopped.  He sat down on the couch and ran a hand frustratingly through his dark black hair.  He covered his hands with his face and hung his head low.  "I'm sorry," he muffled.  "I shouldn't have yelled."  I slowly turned my head back to him and scooted closer to him.

"Calum," I sighed, but he didn't look up.  "Cal," I repeated, putting a hand on his shoulder.  "Hey," I said, moving closer to his ear.  He shuddered slightly feeling my breath on his skin but stayed silent.  "I should be the one apologizing.  I have a tendency to push everyone away, so you shouldn't feel that bad," I said to him, trying to lighten the mood.  "I guess I'm the hardest on you because you've seen what I'm like.  What I'm really like.  You're the first person who has cared the most about me in a long time and... that scares me,"  I finished.  Calum's head rose up and he looked at me closely.  His expression was a mix of relief and empathy.  I smiled lightly.  "How about I make you a deal," I said.  "You can ask me anything you want to know, within reason," I added.  "If you can chill out with all the jealousy stuff," I offered.  Calum sat up straighter, and crinkled his eyebrows in thought.

"Deal," he said, finally and we bumped knuckles.  I smiled and lightly ran my fingers through the tips of his hair.

"Good," I said happily.  Finally we could both come to good terms.
