Luke scrolled through his phone and looked up at us. "Louis Tomlinson just tweeted me," he said. "He wants to meet up with us and talk about their upcoming tour." The boys ran over to Luke and crowded around his phone.
"Are you serious?" Calum asked, trying to take the phone from Luke. They all crowded around the phone and fell silent. I held my breath until they all yelled at the top of their lungs.
"No fucking way!" Michael yelled. They all hugged each other and I smiled happily.
"Can you believe it?" Calum asked me. He picked me up by the waist and lifted me up into the air. I laughed and hugged him.
"I'm so proud of you guys!" I said happily and hugged them. Ashton was crouched on the ground. I put a hand on his back and he looked up, a hand covering his mouth. I giggled and pulled him up.
"I can't even believe this," he said, wrapping his arms around me. I hugged him back and sighed.
"You guys are gonna do amazing," I assured them. A ring went off and I pulled out my phone. I read the text and suddenly I felt a weight in my gut. I read the text over and over.
I'm coming. You have a week to come home or I'm calling the cops to find you.
I looked up at the boys who were looking through their tweets, talking about their plans. "Hey guys I think we should talk about this when we get back home," I said, quietly looking around the parking lot. I turned and headed toward the car before the guys could respond. The ride back home was quiet but as soon as we got home, the boys went to the basement not knowing what to do with themselves. I walked up into the room and looked around for my stuff. Slowly I grabbed everything I could find and stuffed it into my bags. I got up and sunk down onto the bed, my bags strewn beside me. My phone vibrated again making me jump. I unlocked my phone and read the message.
Are you ok? -Calum
I looked up to see Calum stood, leaning on the door frame. I sat up straighter and folded my phone in my hands. "Yeah I'm fine," I said nodding my head. Calum walked up to the bed and stood right in front of me.
"I don't think so. Whenever you have something on your mind you ring your hands together," he observed, crouching down in front of me and placing his hands over mine. He looked around me, staring at the bags. "What are the bags for?" he asked quietly. I sighed and looked down on my lap. Calum started to move my hands away from my phone but I gripped it tighter. He squeezed my hands firmly and slowly slid the phone out of my grasp. After a few moments of silence I felt Calum drop the phone on the bed beside me. "Y/N," he started, but I couldn't look up at him. "Hey," he said again. I felt a firm hand come down on my forearm and immediately I pulled away, covering it with my other hand. "Sorry," he said quickly. I shut my eyes and shook my head.
"It's not you," I said slowly. "I uh, haven't been completely honest with you." I sighed and opened my eyes. "I guess I was just afraid or embarrassed-" Calum put a hand over my arm.
"Stop," he said. "You don't have to explain yourself to me." I looked up and saw Calum standing in front of me, his arms outstretched. "Come here." I got up and Calum wrapped his arms around me securely.
"I can't stay," I whispered. Calum's arms wrapped tighter around me in an attempt to make me stay.
"You're not going anywhere," he said, resting his chin on my head. I hung onto him and closed my eyes.
"You can't help me anymore. You just got your big break and I'm not going to be the one to ruin it," I replied, clenching my teeth together to stop the tears.
"I will help you. We won't let you leave. I won't let you," he said into my hair. I chuckled sadly.
"What can you possibly do," I said, starting to move away from Calum's chest. Calum grabbed my shoulders and forced me to look up at him.
"You're going to stay right next to me. If you go out, we will come with you. Me and the boys. We'll figure this out," he said certainly. I smiled softly.
"Calum," I started. "I don't need a baby sitter." Calum moved his hands down to my forearm.
"Now I'm making a deal. We have to both promise not to lose control. To not... do anything we'll regret," he said quietly, running his thumbs over the lines on my skin. "Promise?" he said raising his pinky finger. I glanced at the coarse lines covering his knuckles and raised my pinky.
"Do you?" I hesitated. He nodded once and I wrapped my pinky around his. "Deal," I said, finally. We jumped at the sound of my phone vibrating on the bed. I looked to Calum. "Don't get that," he warned. I ignored him and slowly picked up my phone. The number was unfamiliar but I unlocked my phone to read the text aloud.
It's me. Don't worry. I'll handle it. Dad. I looked up to Calum but he was at a loss for words. "Dad," I whispered.
