We walked down to the basement where the rest of the boys were chilling.  "You guys are just on time, I was just about to order some pizza!" Ashton told us.

"Sounds great," I said, walking over to the couch and took a seat next to Michael, who was deeply concentrated in a game of Halo.  "What up Mikey?" I asked.  Michael nodded his head up, not taking his eyes off of the screen.

"Damn this level!" Michael swore.  "I can't even get to the next checkpoint!"  I sat patiently beside Michael watching his avatar being shot to the ground.

"Why don't you start from the high ledge and kill the aliens from there?" I asked.  Michael didn't turn to look at me but shook his head.

"Nah that won't work.  They'll see me; the overhang isn't big enough," he said certainly.  I looked at him and eyed the video game controller.

"5 bucks says that I can make it to the next checkpoint," I said, nudging his shoulder.  Michael's green eyes turned to mine, the flame of competition burning in his eyes.  He smiled widely and handed me the controller.

"Go ahead m'lady," he said sarcastically.  I rolled my eyes and took it from his hand.

"Get ready to eat your words Clifford," I said, pressing play.  I quickly guided my avatar to the ledge and shot the aliens one by one, hiding safely behind the overhang.  Michael watched, eyes wide and mouth slightly ajar as I killed off all the aliens on the screen.  I moved slightly left and right as I ran past the lasers and grenades.  "Take that metal head!" I yelled, punching my way through a group of aliens coming my way.  "Oh crap," I muttered, after using the last of my bullets.  My small thumbs and fingers pressed buttons and moved toggles quickly as my avatar sprinted toward the building on the enemy's side of the field.  I entered the tunnel and a voice said "checkpoint" and I paused the game.  I sat up from my crunched down position and turned to Michael who was sitting back, his hands covering his mouth.

"I think I love you," Michael said, finally.  I smiled and laughed.

"Boom," I said happily, arms spread out in a mocking way.  Michael sighed and grabbed some money from his wallet.

"That was luck, you got lucky," he said, shaking his head.  I giggled.

"Yeah, it's lucky that I have more skill at video games than you at video games," I smiled.  Michael's eyes shot daggers at me but I just shot a hard stare back.

"Battle.  You and me.  The one with the most lives left after each level wins," Michael said, grabbing a controller off the table.  "If I win, you have to... dye your hair orange."  I tapped my chin in thought.

"And if I win, you have to dye your hair... purple," I replied.  He paused.

"Alright," he said bumping knuckles with me.

"Hey guys, you're gonna want to see this.  Michael's gonna get his ass handed to him," I yelled.  The boys came to sit beside us in the couch, Calum beside me and Ashton and Luke on the floor in front of us.

"You're going against Mickey?" Luke asked, uncertainly.  I sighed.

"Oh Luke, I destroy Halo," I said to him, pinching his cheek.  Ashton giggled and Calum shook his head.  Luke quietly whispered to Ashton and Calum's ear and they both nodded.

"Alright, LET'S DO THIS!" Michael yelled and we started the battle.  After a couple hours of pushing, cursing and thumb cramps passed and Michael and I were at a dead tie.  We just ended the the 4th round and Michael and I were neck and neck.  I took a relieved breath of air.  "I need to pee, don't press play!" Michael said and rushed into the bathroom.  I yawned and stretched out my arms.

"What time is it?" I asked Ashton, who was leaning his back on my legs.  He unlocked his phone and checked the time.

"Almost 10," Ashton replied.  "That pizza's gonna be free in 15 minutes," he laughed.  I felt an arm go around my shoulders and turned to face Calum.

"Not that it matters, but I have 10 bucks on you winning," he whispered.  I scoffed.

"What?" I said.  I pulled him closer and put my lips to his ear.  "Only 10 bucks?  You have no faith," I laughed.  Calum smiled and sat back on the couch.  Michael ran out of the bathroom and dove back onto his spot beside me.

"Okay, let's finish this!" he said and we started the game again.  We were halfway through the 5th round and everyone was yelling and cheering.

"I'm gonna find you Clifford!" I said, on my feet.  Michael was standing on his feet as well, trying to elbow me out of his way.

"Watch out Michael!" Luke yelled.  I shot a glance at Luke, who was practically standing on the table.

"Jeez Luke who's side are you on?!" I asked, trying to play with one hand, and push Michael away with the other.

"The one who will save my 10 bucks!" he smiled.

"Don't listen to him!  Shoot his guts out!" Calum yelled, jumping wildly on the sofa behind us.  The doorbell rang and Ashton jumped up from his spot directly in front of the TV screen.

"That's the pizza!" he yelled, getting right in front of the TV.  His large frame was blocking the whole the whole screen from me and Michael.  "None of you die yet!" he warned, pointing at the two of us.

"Move!" the four of us yelled as Ashton dashed out of the room.  The cursing and shouting escalated rapidly.

"Last wave!" Calum yelled.  Ashton came back, sprinting into the room with two large pizza boxes and took his spot back on the floor.

"GO!  GO!  GO!" they yelled at us.

"I've got you!" I yelled at the screen, just as it went black.  A large chorus of groans came from the boys.  "NO! I was about to win!" I yelled.

"Woah woah, we were tied," he said back.  We both fell onto the couch.

"Well damn," Calum said.  I turned to Michael.

"Do you still want to dye your hair?" I asked.  "Since we both lost and won."  Michael shrugged.

"Why not," he said.  "You are the empress of Halo," he said bowing down.

        I laughed happily.  "Thanks Mikey."

"Okay then," Ashton said.  "It's PIZZA TIME!" he said happily.
