“What were you both thinking?” Were the first words which greeted Raven and Margo as they entered the apartment. Both exchanged a look before looking back at Charles. He looked like he was in mid-motion of running back out in an effort to find them.
“Shopping,” Raven said lightly while holding up her bags. Margo did try to relieve the painful need to carry them up the stairs, only to fail. She couldn't do it.
“Shopping?” Charles double took. “Shopping?” And frowned at the two. “Are you both mad?”
“No, just bored.” Raven shrugged and shut the door and walked into the apartment fully. They still hadn't entered properly. She walked over and sat down on the sofa with a satisfying smile. Margo walked over to the chair and collapsed into it and looked up at him with a smile.
He was at a loss, he looked between the two and just turned away shaking his head. Sitting down at the desk, he ran his hands down his face. “It is dangerous, not just for you but for the people around you.”
“Nothing happened.” Raven said.
“But something could have. What would you have done then?”
“Blended in.”
“And Margo?” Charles questioned. This seemed to stop Raven's sudden smug achievement. Sure getting away could be a rather easy task for her, she could look like anyone. But Margo didn't have that liberty. What she had was uncontrollable telekinetic power which went through phases of being present and then dormant.
“Fly?”
“You can't.” He said firmly.
“Running hasn't seemed to fail me yet.” Margo shrugged. She wasn't as confident with her answering back as Raven. She hadn't had experiences of arguments, or retaliation as such. It caused her to be at a loss.
Charles just let it go. He could see the awkwardness which confronting her about this issue was causing. “I suppose it doesn't matter,” he said at length, Raven looked at him like he'd just spoken another language. “You're both back. Nothing has happened.”
“Everything is all right.” Raven smiled and picked up her bags and walked lightly to her room.
Margo watched her leave and then looked slowly back to him. “If you were so willing to try and use your skills to possibly escape. Perhaps you can concentrate them now on training.”
“In this small room?” Margo shifted and shook her head. She pulled at the dark sleeves of the top which Raven had leant her.
“It'll be all right.” He sounded so sure, which really didn't wholly fill her with much confidence. He stood and shrugged his coat off. Putting it over the back of the chair he moved around the desk and walked towards her. Waving his hands, he received an odd look to be shot at him as she stood too. She was much slighter than first noticed. The hospital clothes and the clothes he leant her did seem far too big. Raven's clothes fitted better, the top seemed too long in the arms, but the skirt she stood in seemed fine.
“Mind over matter,” he smiled and scooped up a pen from the coffee table. “Start off small. You try to do too much too soon.” She looked at him sceptically. “Move the pen.”
“Move the pen. Move the pen? You make it all seem so simple.” She said while frowning and crossing her arms. “Each time I’ve moved something it's been forced. Or it's been accidental, and even through stress and fear. I can't just...move the pen,” she said while waving a hand at the pen which was sitting in his palm. “Why are you looking at me like that?”
“Because he doesn't believe you,” Raven walked past them and sat on the sofa. She held onto a pillow and looked between the two.
“You're going to watch?” Margo looked to her.
