“Conceptual and Historical issues in Psychology.” Charles repeated while not looking up from his book. No sooner had they returned home had he got stuck into doing work. “Where ever did you get that from?”

Margo was lounging in the chair. Her legs over one arm and her head leaning backwards over the other one. “I put together a few interesting words which I had read. Why, does such a thing exist?” She slowly turned her head over to look at him. She had a good view of the space from an upside down position, whereas the rest of the room was on a sidewards slant.

“Within reason, yes.”

“Mutant and proud? Mutant and proud? If only!” Came the quiet slightly sarcastic words from the direction of the bathroom. “Would you date me?” Raven stepped out, and stood in the doorway. Upon seeing her Margo smiled and sat up in the chair. Raven gave a strained smile back. She was after all standing in her true form, swept back red hair, blue skin and yellow eyes. She put her hands in the bathrobe pockets and looked to Charles, who still sat at his desk scribbling away.

“Of course I would. Any young man would be lucky to have you. You are stunning.” It was clear from his response that he wasn't wholly paying attention to Raven.

“Looking like this?” Raven asked simply.

“I...you...what?” At last Charles stopped writing and looked up. “Blue?” He said quietly, Raven just shifted her weight onto her other foot, her expression falling as she looked to the ground. “You're my oldest friend.”

“I'm your only friend.” Hearing a quiet cough Raven quickly looked to Margo. “I'm sorry.”

“I'm easy to forget about, it's fine.” Margo smiled and fidgeted to sit crossed legged in the chair and lean her chin against her hands.

“Well, thank you for that.” Charles smiled regardless.

“Well?” Raven pressed.

Charles frowned lightly and took to clearing things away on his desk. Putting his pen in his notebook he shut that up, grabbed another book and moved around the piece of furniture. “I'm incapable of thinking of you that way. I feel responsible for you. Anything else would just feel wrong.” He said while passing Raven and taking to sitting on the sofa. Leaning back he opened the book and tried to find the page he needed.

“But what if you didn't know me?” Raven asked while finally moving away from the bathroom doorway.

“Unfortunately I do know you. God! I don't know what's gotten into you lately, you're awfully concerned with your looks.” He said sounding truly confused about this whole conversation. He stuck another pen behind his ear and looked at Raven who just sighed and walked slowly over. The last thing he expected was for her to collapse on the sofa and lean against him.

“I'm tired read to me.” Raven had already got her eyes shut, it was clear she wasn't going to move.

“I can't, I have my thesis coming up I need to study.” Charles said.

“You said to me that it always managed to send Raven to sleep.” Margo piped up, she had curled up in the chair and looked over the arm to the two of them. For the last few moments both thought she had drifted off to sleep and tuned out of their sibling discussion.

“Margo does have a point, that's a good source to send anyone off to sleep.” Raven said quietly while not moving.

“Fine,” Charles relented, Raven gave a small smile, while Margo rested her head back against the cushions and shut her eyes. It seemed that his work was a strange bedtime story for the both of them because he hadn't even finished the first chapter until he realized both females were sound asleep.

----

Margo stood in the doorway to the roof. It was raining, again. Sticking her hands out she frowned when the cold drops hit against her skin. Pulling her hands close she shook the water off of herself and did exactly the same thing again.

Charles and Raven were out. It seemed today was the today in which he was to graduate. With the amount of people which would be present, she was instructed to stay put. After all the formalities were done, she'd be collected. Margo had seen fit to try and do something with her time. Sticking her hands out in the rain had a purpose, she wasn't just doing this as a pointless task.

Air displacement. Or, well, she thought that was the correct term to use. She figured it be the same sort of title she'd use if she ever wanted to put an explanation to levitating. “I'm not levitating, I’m displacing the air,” she mumbled to herself and even laughed. It sounded a lot fancier that was for sure. Though right now, she was focussing on trying to displace the air around her hands, if she could do this she'd effectively have created a shield, this shield would keep the rain drops off of her hands. Though they were drenched now so being dry would really do nothing. But it was still the principle that mattered. Not that she could use this technique if she were to ever walk down a rainy street.

“Ah!” She exclaimed in joy when it was slowly starting to work. The more she splayed her hands, the wider the barrier became above her hands. Though it wasn't a visible barrier, it was there, she could feel it. “Ah!” She repeated again because she was truly lost for other words. This was great, amazing, dare she even say awesome?

You can come down now, Margo.” The voice in her head diverted her attention slightly, enough for the barrier to shift. A rain drop hit her skin which caused her to frown. “Margo?” Stepping back she shut the door and walked speedily down to the apartment, ducking in she grabbed her coat and shut the door before running towards the exit.

“You all right?” Both Charles and Raven were huddled under the porch of the building, for the moment Raven's umbrella was down and she was shaking water droplets from it.

“I was preoccupied.”

“You don't have to come out. Just, with the way you keep wanting to venture outside I thought this would be as perfect time as any.” Charles said while ducking under the umbrella again.

“It's not that, I do want to come out and celebrate, well done by the way, Professor.”

“Oh, we're not allowed to call him that until he gets a teaching job.” Raven smirked and looked past Charles to smile at Margo.

She pulled the hood of her coat up and nodded. “Right, right, of course.” She said and then just smirked up at him. “Can I openly admit I always think of Professors as being old guys?”

“I'm glad we share this thought.” Raven laughed.

“Do you both mind?” Charles asked while looking from one to the other.

“Sorry,” Margo put her hands in her pockets hoping that that'd dry them off.

“You do seem rather preoccupied.” Charles said as they continued on their way, the further they walked into town the more smartly dressed people appeared. Other graduates were having the same idea with celebrating.

“You're not spying are you?” She questioned thinking he might be secretly looking into her thoughts.

“No, just you look thoughtful.”

Margo pinched the bridge of her nose and looked to him. “I've been training.” Charles frowned, Raven raised an eyebrow. “Don't start!” She exclaimed when it looked like he was about to say something, something bad no doubt about it being dangerous or whatever. “I only did something small, minute, unimportant...”

“Don't sell yourself short, there is nothing unimportant with what you're learning to do.” Charles smiled and ducked out from underneath the umbrella to open the pub door for them both. “Perhaps tell me about it later.”

“Much later, because by then, he'll be so drunk he won't be able to have a go at you.” Raven laughed and walked beside Margo into the warm and slightly packed building.
