“I feel almost embarrassed for him.”

“It is bad to watch, granted I can agree with you there.” Raven replied while tilting her head to the side.

“Tragic.” Margo frowned and leant her chin against her hands. “And that's coming from someone who basically has no social skills.”

“I find you rather sociable.” Raven laughed while nudging her on the arm.

Margo swayed from this action and smiled at her happily. There was a small quite pub which wasn't a long walk from their home, which was obviously convenient in case anything happened. It seemed that no sooner had they all sat down at a table, had a woman at the bar caught Charles's attention.

He walked away from them, and went over to talk to her. This left Raven and Margo sitting at the table watching the rather awful event in front of them. Raven wholly agreed with Margo's earlier words. It was rather easy to feel embarrassed for him. Margo had only been subjected to this moment once. Raven had had the unfortunate experience of being witness to it quite a few times. It wasn't the initial act of watching her brother shamelessly flirt with some poor unsuspecting human, it was the fact that said human got false hope of intentions and then got nothing.

“You know how we're not allowed any slip ups?” Margo's voice pulled Raven from her thoughts, she looked at her curiously and nodded. “Can I point out that he's just done the one thing he keeps lecturing us about?”

“He does that often.” Raven replied while flicking some wayward crumbs off of the table in front of her. “How else is he meant to find out what they drink?”

“Ask them?”

“The obvious answer.”

“And the most simple.” Margo said while rolling her eyes and looking at her quickly before looking back to the pair.

“Want to go over and gatecrash?”

“To stop this train wreck of...whatever that's meant to be, or to be nosy, or to just generally appear to be irritating?”

“How about all three at the same time?” Raven asked while reaching over the back of her chair and grabbing her bag. Margo quickly shot up from the chair and followed after her.

“Hi,” Charles quickly looked to them while lowering his glass.

“Hey,” Raven replied dryly. “I suppose we'll have to get our own drinks?”

“Oh right,” Charles looked to the bartender, “Two colas,” he said while Margo went to say something. “Not for you tonight, best lay off the drink, hm?” She looked dejected and the woman at the bar looked at her oddly. In truth, Charles would rather not know what would happen if a barely stable telekinetic had alcohol, it truly wasn't something he wished to find out. Making her seem like a partying student was perhaps the best way to stop her getting any. Though it caused her to narrow her eyes at him.

“Charles here was telling me that I’m like one of the first sea creatures that grew legs.” The woman said while looking to Raven and Margo, they just looked at her simply.

“Tiny bit sexier,” Charles laughed which resorted in the woman laughing too. Raven and Margo shifted their weight and looked between the two. “I'm sorry this is my sister, Raven, and our dear friend, Margo.” He explained while gesturing a hand to them.

“Hi,” Raven put her hand in the one which was offered to her and shook it loosely. Margo did exactly the same while smiling what she hoped was a polite smile.

“Amy,” she introduced herself to the pair. “So, what are you two studying?”

“Waitressing,” Raven said simply, Amy's expression changed to one of disinterest, yet her blue and green eyes flicked to Margo.

“Conceptual and Historical issues in Psychology.” Margo said brightly, Raven just gave her a look whereas Charles's expression turned to one of minor annoyance. It was bad enough Raven joining into this conversation let alone Margo too, who was evidently having fun getting minor jokes in.

“Ah, I see,” Amy said while looking between the two. “Oh look! You have heterochromia too.” Amy said while looking at Raven, Margo slowly looked up too.

“Sorry, what?” Charles had temporarily looked back to the bar.

“Well, look at her eye.” Amy replied. He turned back around only when he looked back to his sister he couldn't help but frown. Raven had purposely made one of her eyes go to the natural yellow hue they usually were.

“Right. Raven get your coat, please,” he said clearly annoyed, Margo put a hand over her mouth and looked like she was trying not to laugh. “You too, Margo.” He said while rummaging in his wallet for some money to pay for their drinks. He dropped the note on the bar and turned away while ushering them out too.

Charles was the first to exit the pub while pulling on his coat. “Don't talk to me. You both did that on purpose!”

“We did not!” Raven exclaimed.

Margo looked like she was going to contradict her only to receive a nudge to be quiet. “Sorry.” Though in her defence, she hadn't done anything really...other than gatecrash a conversation which was seemingly going nowhere fast.

“You did!”

“Why would I do it on purpose?” Raven retorted shortly while stepping into line beside him. Margo appeared at his other side and peered around him to look at her. “You know I can't control it sometimes. If I’m stressed or tired.” She explained while pulling her dark coat around herself.

“You seem to be doing a perfectly good job of it right now.” Charles said simply. They quickly walked up some steps and walked past a small group of people.

“Mutant and proud!” Raven mimicked Amy's voice quite well as they continued on their walk back home. It was the one sentence which both herself and Margo had caught when they had appeared at the bar. “Or is that only the pretty mutations or the invisible ones, like yours? But if you're a freak, better hide!” Raven said exasperated, Margo looked confused, she after all still didn't know what Raven was really capable off.

Charles just stopped walking and looked at Raven. “You're being ridiculous. Look...look, I don't mean to sound like an old fart.”

“Which you are.” Raven said simply and honestly while looking to him.

“Sometimes,” Charles smiled. “But we talked about this,” he looked to Margo who stood looking up at the night sky and its twinkling stars. Looking back to him she figured she may as well pay attention to this conversation now that it seemed she was being involved in it. “A small slip up is one thing, a big one does not bear thinking about.” He started walking off again.

Margo pouted and stepped beside Raven. “Ever likely to have a big slip up?” She looked to the blonde by her side.

“No.” Raven smiled, and tugged Margo to walk so they could catch up with Charles. “You?”

“No...not that I know of.”

Raven smiled, “Which means we can still go out.”

“No,” Charles turned to look at them as he opened the door to their apartment building. “It doesn't. Not before you both take this a little more seriously.” He said while they walked past him and he shut the door and led the way to the apartment.
