It wasn't a sudden thing, the kiss, well in some way it was sudden, sudden for Margo who didn't see it coming. But it was sudden for Charles. It was strange, Margo had gone from someone who he had made a silent – but known and felt – promise to look after and to protect. To someone who he could find himself confiding in. Whether she knew it or not, but she really was a good listener, and the comments she shared and contributed were more often than not something which gave him cause to think.

Despite of this, Charles had ignored the impending change in opinion and feelings which had suddenly appeared. Margo was a friend with problems, she needed his help and Raven's friendship. There were serious things happening and the change in their friendship would no doubt act as a distraction. Though when it came to the female kind, he had more often than not used his skill to his advantage. Much like he did with Amy in the bar in Oxford, that seemed like so long ago now when he briefly pondered over it. Over compensating, Raven had called it once when she had unfortunately been subjected to his awful flirting.

But there was none of that with Margo. She had literally crashed into his life, frightened, uncertain and guarded. Yet it didn't seem to take long to chip away and get to know the person underneath all of this. And it just so happened that he quite liked the real her. She was funny, laid back, though highly curious and sometimes a little off with her people skills, she was still a nice person.

He wasn't alone in liking her, though sure, Raven liked her in a different respect to him. He didn't need to be a mind reader to know that even Erik in a way tolerated her. Though when Charles pondered over Erik he found himself frowning. He didn't approve of Erik's tactics earlier on, he had instilled minor fear by bringing up the hatred which humans more often than not felt towards those that are different. Of course Erik made sure to aim his sentence more at Margo, who he clearly registered had suffered greatly by human hands.

This just bought it back to full circle. Back to protecting, though he felt a bit more defensive over this role now. Now that he had rather rudely intruded on her thoughts to know how she felt for him. He meant it earlier, he felt like he should thank her for holding him in such high regards. What better way to thank her than to kiss her?

It was one way of getting both of their feelings across he figured. Though what he didn't take into regard was the fact that sometimes Margo's powers flared up when confronted with things on an emotional level.

So no sooner did he pull away from her did he find himself with a door slammed in his face. Putting his hands on his forehead he groaned, that hurt. Margo quickly opened the door again and looked at him worriedly.

“I am so sorry! That is the second time I’ve hurt you...sorry, Charles, honestly I am...” Margo said while reaching up and pulling a hand away to look at the injury she'd inflicted on him.

“It's fine, honestly, I am fine.”

“Charles seriously stop it.” Margo shook her head sadly. “You can't keep being so flippant.”

“Would you rather me shout at you?” He raised an eyebrow as she continued to look at him worriedly.

“Well no, but I’d rather you not be so polite on the matter.” Margo frowned and reached up to put a hand on his shoulder and pull him into the room. “Sit, I’m going to hunt you out some painkillers.”

“But I’m fine.” Charles laughed and rubbed his head, it didn't hurt.

Margo looked at him bluntly. “You don't hurt now, but you will.” With that said she turned out of her room and left him in silence.

He looked around her room, it was tidy, not that he was expecting extreme mess. But there wasn't anything out of place. He gave a small frown at this. Institutions were ones for regime. He figured the cleanliness strived from that.

Hearing the door open again he watched as she reappeared. He smiled. “You're going to have to stop doing that. Especially if you venture out into the city.” He said while Margo stood inches off of the floor holding a cup of water and a packet. She'd taken to hovering around instead of walking, this was one of many times he saw her doing it.

She looked down, her feet touched the floor and she pottered forwards. Sitting in front of him she shoved the cup and packet into his hand. She gave a small huff and crossed her arms. Charles rolled his eyes and took to sorting out the packet in his hand.

“I'm not telling you off, I’m just saying.” Charles said while Margo shot him a look. “I agreed to you learning to fly, not so you could levitate around but so you could finally control it.”

“It's just us here. Who cares? I’m obviously not going to go levitating down the street, am I? I mean, that had huge success last time didn't it?” Margo mumbled and watched as he moved to put the cup and packet on the bedside table beside her.

Charles smiled and inclined his head. Though Margo had a point, her want to rely on her powers and not reel them in just reminded him of Raven's want too. It seemed both females had similar views.

“Fine,” he said slowly. “Just don't forget how those work,” he said while pointing to her legs.

Margo laughed. “I'm not going to forget how to walk only because I find it quicker and quieter to fly!” Shaking her head she pushed her hair over her shoulder and looked to the wall opposite to them. “That's just silly.” She mumbled and sighed contently. It was silent in the room then, a peaceful silence which both didn't seem to mind being enveloped in. Margo let out another quiet sigh and leant her head against his shoulder. Charles leant his head on top of hers and looked down as she held her hand up, slipping his hand into hers he held onto her tightly.

“How does this work?” Margo asked curiously. Relationships threw her, she'd only just caught onto the concept of friendship, having something more than friendship just confused her to no end.

“That's a very good question.” Charles replied.

Margo moved away from his shoulder and looked to him. “You don't know do you?” She smirked when he seemed to struggle to think of a adequate answer.

“I must confess that past relationships I have had have never ended with success. Nor have they been with someone who is similar to myself.” Charles confessed. He was rather sure that for a relationship to work, two people had to have common ground and something similar that they shared. He had struggled to find both of these things in past attempts, but he reckoned that he wouldn't struggle so much with Margo. They had common ground, and they shared something similar.

Margo leant back against his shoulder and shut her eyes. “I've never been in a relationship, so I can't comment on success or failure.” She paused and seemed to struggle with words. “But I’d like to give whatever this is a shot.” She laughed, they were the only words she could think to use. Charles rolled his eyes yet smiled and leant his head back against hers. He wasn't going to comment, but he agreed.
