Tragedy

     As soon as I woke up, I went straight to Bella's room. I finally got Zuddy to temporarily close off the IV I have to have from now on.
     Walking into her room, I see pictures and Christmas lights strung all along the room. After I finished looking around the room, I took Bella's hand in mine like I always did when I talked to her.
     "Bella please wake up," I begged, "Please. I know you can push through this. I don't know how much more I can take a-" I was interrupted by the terrifying, yet familiar sound of the heart monitor flat lining. I felt the familiar wave of panic and hopelessness wash over me. I couldn't do anything. I couldn't move, my breath was caught in my throat, and I was just left standing there as the incoming doctors and nurses pushed me out of the way.
     I wanted to scream, cry, break down. Anything would be better than this. Just I heard the first jolt of electricity, Mackenzie came running down the hall to the ICU.
     "Again? This is the third time this week!" I finally forced myself to slightly nod, answering her question.
     After what seem like the thousandth jolt of electricity, her heart started again. Instead of telling me the news directly to me, the doctors informed Mackenzie that her organs were starting to shut down.
     Later that week, I sat down in the chair next to Bella's bed. I looked at all the memories we had shared and saw her  favorite picture Mackenzie took. She realized at the last second Mackenzie was taking a picture and she ducked while I looked over at her, genuinely enjoying the moment.
     "Please Bella," I begged her," I can't take any more. I can't live without you. Please stay with me Bella." I said, putting my hand on her other hand.
     Then I heard it again.
