"Why are you acting so.. off?"
"I'm always like this."_____________________
"What do you mean you can't work on it tonight, Peter? This thing is due in 2 weeks, remember? We still have to put the presentation together and finish the wiring." Cora said, crossing her arms. She was at his locker after school on Tuesday, the day after she saw him rush out of the school and get into a mysterious, sleek, and expensive black car before leaving.
Peter was getting his books for the end of the day, and he was supposed to go to Cora's to work on the project as they did for the past two weeks on Tuesdays, Thursdays, and Fridays.
"I'm really sorry, Cora. I've got the internship-"
"Oh my god." Cora scoffed, rolling her eyes. "That's your reason for everything you have to miss! Don't you think this is a bit much for an intern to do, Parker?" She asked. Cora would usually understand, but her change in character was due to the fact that nothing had been going right today. Now, this?
"It is! But.. if I show I'm a hard worker, maybe he'll turn it into a real job in the future." Peter said hopefully, having said that to anyone who said he was doing a lot for an intern spot. He grabbed the last of his books, before zipping his backpack shut. He understood why she was upset, this project had to present two days before Christmas break, and they'd only done half of it. "Could we make up for it tomorrow?" He asked her as he shut his locker, turning to face the girl.
Cora sighed, "no, we can't. Decathlon practice is tomorrow, and we have the chem test on Thursday, so we both need to study for that." She told him, looking up at him. He was a bit taller, not by much though. Maybe 4 inches.
"Oh shit, that's true." Peter sighed, "I could come over after practice and we can study together, and work on the project? I'm sure we can multitask." He suggested, shrugging his shoulders. Cora bit her lip, thinking before nodding a bit.
"We can try. I'll see you tomorrow, Parker." She said, waving before she walked off.
What had gone wrong that day? Well, she woke up half an hour late and looked exhausted, her hair had been braided back into a style that made her look like a 5-year-old boy because she didn't have time to shower, she missed her bus, got in trouble with Mr. Rivit for not paying attention again, Flash hit her in the face with a volleyball during P.E, and Michelle was in a negative mood today, so that didn't help. Then, Peter cancelled on working on the project.
She didn't want to go home in a heated mood, so she decided to scope the city for a bit and maybe stop some crimes. Leaving the school, Cora found the first alleyway that was a bit hidden before she changed into the self-made suit. She slipped the mask on before slowly blinking, her eyes going violet. Cora hid her bag in a nearby box, not wanting to have it stolen.
