"So, that was fun," Theodore said, laying on my bed. He closed his eyes and relaxed, putting his arm across his eyes. "Do you know if the food had a spell on it?"
I shook my head and took the letter from my shirt sleeve and held it in my hands. "I'll have to take a sample later. I was trying not to chew Weston out."
"You didn't call him Alpha," Theodore said, surprised. He sat up and pulled his arm from his eyes. Respect and awe filled his eyes, and I was sure that he knew that I wasn't fond of him. "Why not?"
"He doesn't deserve to be called "Alpha," I replied. I opened the letter and read what Clarissa had written. I narrowed my eyes because it didn't really say much except for the fact that she was the new prophet and that I should send the letter to my mother.
"What's that?" Theodore asked when I pursed my lips. He looked at the note in my hands, and I was sure that he was curious as to how I had gotten it.
"Note from the prophet," I replied. I placed the letter back into the envelope, annoyed that she didn't say anything that I could really use. She had said she would pick me up later tonight, but there was no distinct time as to when she would appear.
"The... prophet is dead. There is no prophet."
"There isn't?" I asked, setting the note on fire and hoping that it would be sent to my mother like Clarissa said that it would. "I mean, there usually is a prophet. They are born after the other one dies. It didn't happen with Prophet Ida because she gave her powers to Prophet Amelia Grace."
"How do you know that?" Theodore asked. He looked shocked about the fire, and I could tell that he wanted to ask about it.
I placed my finger to my lip and went to my dresser. I tapped on one of the four monkeys that were in the room, causing the gong that it held to vibrate.
Tasha went to one of my two nightstands and tapped on the other monkey. She moved to the other nightstand while I moved to the other side of the dresser, and we both tapped on the monkeys at the same time.
"Ok, we are free to talk, now," I said, sitting on one of the chairs in the room. I watched as Tasha sat down on the other seat, both of us facing Theodore. "Yes, I have powers. I had inherited them from my parents."
"Powers?" Theodore asked, causing me to nod my head. His eyes widened in shock and surprise. "Dude, that is awesome. How?"
I shrugged my shoulder. "Don't know," I replied. "I was not told."
He nodded his head and furrowed his brows. "What about the prophet?" he asked. "How do you know about that stuff?"
"I was left stuff by the prophet," I replied. "She wanted to make sure that I knew who the next prophet was." I got up from the chair and made my way to my closet.
"What are you doing, now?" Theodore asked. "Are you going to make that into some sort of portal?"
"No, I am going to change. I am not going to be seeing them, and I don't want to be in a skirt anymore." I closed the closet door, glad that it was kind of spacious.
'You have clothes underneath them. Don't you?' Tasha linked.
'Just the skirt,' I replied. I took off the belt that held my dagger and then took off the skirt as well as the flats that I had to wear. 'I refuse to wear a skirt by itself anymore.'
Tasha snickered. 'Can I get clothes from your dresser and change?'
'Ya, you can use the bathroom to change.' I hung the skirt up and took off the blouse.
