School the next day didn't seem as if it would be any different. Dad didn't say anything about what we'd be doing, and I thought nothing of it. But, as it turns out, he was lying. Or as he calls it, a logical ruse. No matter the case, I still had an odd feeling about today. I left for school before him, like I usually did, arriving in the classroom and engaging in a few smaller conversations here and there. This went on until class began. We had the usual morning classes, going through the day normally. During the afternoon, we would begin hero training.
When Aizawa walked into the class, he lazily began to explain what we'd be doing today. "For today's hero training, All Might, myself and one other hero will be supervising." 'In that case, it must be important. And he said we weren't doing anything out of the ordinary!' I thought, mildly annoyed.
"Today we will be doing rescue training. You can choose whether or not you want to wear your costume." And there goes my nerves. The uneasy feeling I had earlier seemed to return, and I glanced around to see my classmates eager expressions. I figured I could wear my costume, as it hadn't been damaged at all last time, but that was the least of my worries. What happened yesterday was way more concerning to me. I couldn't help but fear what they had planned.
--
I zoned out everyone's conversations as I sat at the back of the bus, staring out the window. All I know is that people are yelling, meaning it's probably Bakugou, and I don't want to get involved. Before we got onto the bus, Iida tried working out the seating, but he was crushed to find out that it was a different type of bus.
I decided to plug my headphones in so I could drown out the voices of my classmates. I guess I was just so absorbed in the music, because I hadn't realized we stopped. A hand tapped my shoulder, and I looked up to see a blonde-haired guy who had a black lightning stripe across the front. I quickly took off my headphones, hazing up at him. "Hey, I wasn't sure if you had realized, but we're here!" He said in an energetic tone. "O-oh." I stuttered as I stood up and followed behind him. "So you're Takashiro, right?" He asked, and I nodded. "I'm not r-really used to people calling me by my l-last name, so you can call me (Name) if you'd like." Nervously, I glanced over at him.
"Oh, then in that case... I'm Kaminari, but you can call me Denki!" He smiled, and I felt my cheeks warm up ever so slightly. We walked over to where the other students had gathered, and noticed someone else standing beside Aizawa. "Woah, it's Thirteen!" Someone blurted out. They said something inaudible to me, but everyone started walking inside the large building, so I followed. I wanted to tell Dad something, but he was already in front of everyone. I stood semi-close to the front, hoping I'd be able to hear what the Rescue Hero was saying this time. "Before we start, I'd just like to say a thing, or two. Or maybe three..."
I found myself inwardly laughing for a moment. "Anyways, as I'm sure you're all aware, my quirk is mainly used for rescue purposes. However, it can just as easily be used to kill. I'm sure many of you have similar abilities. Today, we'll be training your quirks for rescue purposes." Thirteen continued to speak, but eventually finished, giving a small bow.
I had that same, uneasy feeling wash over me again. I looked behind the two pros to the fountain in the centre, noticing something off about it. A shadowy shape began forming near the centre of the fountain, which eventually grew. Terror crept down my spine. I recognized that shadow. My fears were confirmed when I saw a face emerging from inside it. "Has training already begun?" Someone asked. "Stay back!" Aizawa shouted, causing us to flinch. "Thirteen, protect the students!" More people began to emerge from the shadow, only one standing out to me. The same, blue-haired man from yesterday. Once again, I felt helpless and immobile. Collapsing to my knees, I stared out at the sea of villains below me. 'Dammit, why didn't I say anything yesterday?'
