Shinsou's POV
"Midoriya is out of bounds! Shinsou moves in to the second round!"
At least, those were the words I wish that I could have heard. As I swung at Midoriya, he grabbed onto me, turning and flipping me onto my back, and as his luck would have it, I landed out of bounds. Midnight had announced his victory as I lay there, and Midoriya stood panting, blood running down from his nose.
I looked up at the crowds, noticing (Name) was no longer in her seat. 'God, did I mess up that bad?' I stood up, turning towards Midoriya and ignoring everything that Midnight was saying. "Shinsou... why do you want to be a hero?" I heard Midoriya ask. "We don't get to choose the things we naturally admire." I responded briefly, turning away from him and heading back to the gate.
Yet another voice cut me off. "You were awesome out there Shinsou! You had us on the edge of our seats!" "Yeah! You're the star of us general studies students!" 'My classmates...' More comments like that could be heard, some from people who weren't even UA students.
"They'll consider transfers to the hero course based on the results here, remember that. Maybe I failed this time, but I'm not giving up. I'll show them I've got what it takes to make the hero course, and I'll become a greater hero than all of you." I heard a subtle 'right' from Midoriya, so I decided to mess with him a little. "people who respond to me tend to stiffen up like that. It'd be easy to mess everything up for you now, so just promise me that you wont lose in a stupid way out there."
Exiting the arena for real this time, I was instantly met with a crashing force running into me. As I looked down, I was met with a mess of (H/C) hair and (E/C) eyes staring back up at me. "(Name)?" My face began to heat up as I felt her arms tighten around me. "You did amazing Hitoshi! You were so close! I was cheering you on the whole time!" A huge smile was spread across her face, and her eyes seemed to be swelling with pride.
"Hey, calm down. That wasn't even your fight." I joked, watching as she blushed a bit in embarrassment. "I know, it's just... I feel really proud to be able to say that I'm super close with someone who mad a huge impact on everyone out there! When I was coming down here, basically all I could hear about were people asking why they put someone with an awesome quirk like yours in general studies. I think I even heard some pros talking about you!"
"Am I interrupting something?"
(Name)'s POV
An irritated voice came from behind me, and I quickly threw myself off of Hitoshi, turning to face whoever had appeared. "T-Todoroki? I uh-" "Both of you are in the way. Hurry up and move." He pushed by us, and I noticed a very annoyed look on his face. "Um, Todoroki... Good luck!" I gave a smile, hoping that whatever annoyed him didn't throw him off. He stopped in his tracks, turning ever so slightly, and muttering a 'thanks' under his breath but just loud enough so that I could hear it.
"Hey, Hitoshi? I'm gonna go check on Midoriya, so I'll see you in a bit, okay?" He nodded, and I ran off towards Recovery Girl's room. I panted as I neared the door, gently knocking. The door swung inwards, and I looked down to see Recovery Girl walking out. "Hey, Midoriya-kun. How are you feeling?" His green eyes met mine, and I noticed that he wasn't hurt anymore.
"Oh, uh, there wasn't really much for Recovery Girl to heal, so I still have most of my stamina. I'm guessing Todoroki and Sero have already started their fight?" I nodded. "Y-you're good to go, right? So how about we go back to the others to watch?"
