As we walked to our entry gate, I could hear Present Mic, now better known to me as Dad #2, shouting stuff about the festival. Everything seemed as if it were in slow motion, and the tension from waiting was almost unbearable. Until at last, I heard the screeching voice begin to announce our entrance. "First up... You know who I'm talking about! The miraculous class who fended off a villain attack! The first years of the hero course, Class 1-A!"

And there it was. The signal for us to walk out into the arena. Most of the class walked out with pure confidence. Others, like Midoriya and myself, were freaking out about how many people were up there, watching from above. "I didn't think there would be so many people... I mean, I knew there would be lots, but, that's a lot of people." I whispered to the curly-haired boy beside me. "And there are even more people watching on TV..." I looked back over to him, and he seemed even more worried than he did before. Quickly, I decided to shut my mouth before I caused any more issues.

The other classes began walking out, and I instantly saw a face that was easily recognizable to me. Some of my nerves had calmed after seeing Shinsou, but I was currently unable to talk to him. I would have to make sure I'd speak with him later.

As we all gathered in the centre of the arena, we were greeted by the ref for this year. The R-Rated Hero, Midnight. "Now, before we get started, it's time for the athletes oath!" There were quite a few comments, most were about if the R-Rated teacher should be at a high school. After a few aggressive words between student and teacher, she began speaking once again. "Alright, your student representative is... From Class 1-A, Katsuki Bakugou!"

I blinked a few times, turning to Midoriya to see if I had heard what I did. "Wait, Bakugou? Am I hearing things?" Yaoyarozu was quick to respond, and I turned my attention to her. "It must be because he placed first on the entrance exam." Mentally, I slapped myself for not thinking of that sooner. The spiky blonde stepped ip to the platform, and I could sense the tension from the rest of the class. 'Please don't make the other classes hate us more than they already do.'

"The athletes oath..." He began. "I just want to say that I'm gonna win." 'Damn, I knew I shouldn't have prayed. There was never any chance of him saying anything encouraging anyways. Wait, I think Dad's rubbing off on me...' I thought, drowning out the equally aggressive response to Bakugou's "pledge" If you would call it one. He walked back off the platform, passing Midoriya and I. Midnight had taken back to the microphone. "Now without delay, let's get the first event started. These are the qualifiers! It's in this stage that so many are sent back crying each year! And the fateful first event for this year is..."

The screen behind the Pro lit up with the words obstacle course race. "This!" The woman finally finished. "So it's an obstacle course, huh?" I said in tune with Midoriya. A large gate opened up behind us as Present Mic began explaining the race. "This is a race between all eleven classes! The course is a four-kilometre lap around the stadium itself!" I could hear the banana man chuckle into his mic, which was likely not a good thing. "Our school preaches freedom in all things, so as long as you don't leave the course, anything is fair game!"

I found myself gulping. 'Crap, my quirk really isn't meant for this kind of stuff... Oh come on, (Name)! You were raised by Pro Heroes! You can figure something out!' I mentally began to prep myself for the race that was about to begin. As all the students took to their starting positions, the beginning timer began beeping, signalling the counter was over.

"Why is the gate so narrow?" I quietly asked myself as I began running. My eyes widened as I saw ice quickly covering the ground, and I swift used an energy blast to propel myself upwards. 'Todoroki...' I caught a glimpse of the boy running ahead, already in the lead. Just behind him, I could see many of my other classmates, most notably, Bakugou, as he was aggressively yelling after him. 'I can't fall behind!' I thought, as I used more energy to move myself forward, out of the starting gate. As soon as I landed, I noticed that almost all of the people who had escaped Todoroki's starting move were from our class.
