The sun was blazing down on Inkwell Isles, the land was bright and full of life. King Dice and Cherry were walking hand in hand towards the Casino. The light summer breeze gently making Cherry's hair sway like graceful waves. As they passed Cagney Carnation's garden the flowers waving in the wind. That's when they saw the giant orange flower attending to some of the new flowers growing.
"Hey Cagney, how are you doing?" Said Cherry as she gave him a small wave and a sweet smile on her face.
"Huh... oh Hey Cherry, King Dice... I've never been better since last night... I never got to thank you for freeing us last night" Replied Cagney as he turned around to face the pair of them, a wide smile and a look of happiness covered his face.
"It's alright Cagney really" Said Cherry as she closed her eyes and blushed slightly, gently she waved her hand in front of her.
"Just to show my appreciation... fresh from my garden" Replied Cagney as he held out a bouquet of a mixture of different coloured roses.
"Oh Cagney... Thank you" Said Cherry as she grabbed the bouquet of roses from Cagney and smelled them, a sweet aroma emanated from the petals.
"And Dice... you better look after her... otherwise you'll have me to deal with" Said Cagney as he looked up and down at King Dice.
"You have nothing to fear Cagney... I'll take good care of her" Replied King Dice as he wrapped an arm around Cherry's waist and pulled her closer to him.
"That's what I like to hear... anyway I'll see you guys around" Said Cagney as he gave them a small smile and a tiny wave.
"See you around Cagney" Replied Cherry as she gave him a sweet smile and a small wave.
"See you later Cagney" Replied King Dice as he gave a small wave and slowly started walking towards the Casino with Cherry.
Both King Dice and Cherry interlocked fingers and continued their way towards the Casino. Cherry looked up at King Dice, a slight sparkle in her eyes. King Dice looked down at Cherry, a shine was cast on his emerald green eyes.
"So what's the deal with you and Cagney?" Said King Dice as he looked in front of him, now regretting asking Cherry that questions.
"Are you jealous Dice?" Replied Cherry as she looked at King Dice slightly shocked, as she raised an eyebrow in confusion.
"No... no... you and Cagney just seem like you two go back that's all... I was just wondering how you two met that's all" Said King Dice as he rubbed the back of his neck and looked down at Cherry.
"Yeah... I used to sit around different places in Inkwell and just draw... I was in Cagney's garden a few times sitting there drawing... obviously at the time I didn't know anyone owned the garden... I was sitting under a tree and Cagney decided it would be a fantastic idea to scare me... it did ruin the drawing but I didn't mind too much... and that's about it we just sat there and talked for a while and became friends" Replied Cherry as she looked up at King Dice the entire time, then looked up at the sky remembering the time she first met Cagney Carnation.
"So you're an artist" Said King Dice as he looked at Cherry and gently rubbed her hand with him thumb.
"Not really... I used to draw to get away from the problems... the pain... my... life" Replied Cherry as she continued to look at the sky, tears brimming on the edge of her eyes.
King Dice looked down at Cherry and noticed the tears brimming on the edge of her eyes. Softly he placed a hand on Cherry's cheek and wipped the tears away. King Dice gently wrapped an arm around her and pulled her into a hug, Cherry wrapped her arms around him, hugging him tightly.
"You're gonna be alright Cherry... you have family and friends that will always stand by your side no matter what" Said King Dice as he softly placed a kiss on Cherry's forehead, and continued to hold her close to him.
"I know... but try changing the opinions of people who think you're insane because of your family history" Replied Cherry as she hugged King Dice tighter, tears streaming down her face.
King Dice didn't know what to say, he continued to hold Cherry close to him trying to give her as much comfort as he physically could. His eyes slowly averted towards the sky to notice the sun fading behind the clouds.
"Come on... we better get to the Casino before it starts to rain" Said King Dice as he looked back down at Cherry who was still clinging to his chest.
"What... are you scared of getting soaked Dice?" Cherry remarked as a smirk became plastered across her face, slowly she pulled away from King Dice and looked into his eyes.
"No I'm worried about you getting soaked my dear" Replied King Dice as he gently grabbed one of Cherry's hands and brought it up to his lips, giving a soft kiss on the back of her hand.
"Nice gesture... but I have run across all the isles in the rain before" Said Cherry as she swiftly pulled her hand away and gave him a playful wink, slowly she turned around and started walking in the direction of the Casino.
"Unbelievable" King Dice muttered to himself as he quicken his pace to keep up to speed with Cherry.
Cherry turned her head to look at King Dice then glanced down at his hand. Discreetly she slipped her hand in his and held it gently. He glanced down and held onto her hand, slightly swaying them back and forth. Slowly the rain started pouring down on Inkwell Isles. The sun had faded behind the clouds not to be seen by the endless sea of clouds. Grass twinkled as the rain landed against it, the wind whirling around all the buildings on the Isles.
Is this a sign of what's to come in the future... or will it be déjà vu for Cherry?
