Chapter 12: Falling Apart

That night Cherry couldn't sleep, not with everything that had happened. Her mind was racing with all different kinds of thoughts, her body consumed by all different emotions. Worse thing of all she couldn't talk to anyone. For the fear they would get hurt because of her. What Cherry hadn't realised she was doing the exact same thing as her family where doing to her. Pushing her away to keep her safe.

The next morning was the opening day of the Casino. Cherry woke up from the short amount of sleep she got and went over to the wardrobe. She grabbed the dress King Dice had given her for her birthday and started to get ready. Once Cherry got the outfit on she went to the mirror and curled her hair in tight curls, putting it up into a high pony tail. Suddenly she heard a knock at her bedroom door.

"Come in" Said Cherry as she was finishing tying her hair into a high ponytail, glancing from side to side in the mirror.

That's when King Dice, Cuphead, Mugman and Elder Kettle came into Cherry's room.

"Whoa Doll... you look beautiful" Said King Dice as he swiftly started walking over towards Cherry.

She jumped a little bit not expecting King Dice to be there. Like lighting Cherry turned around to face him.

"Dice... what... what are doing here?" Stuttered Cherry as her eyes went wide, her arms wrapped around her waist.

"I came to see you before the opening... and to personally escort you there M'Lady" Replied King Dice as he gently grabbed one of Cherry's hands giving it a light kiss on the back.

"Such a charmer" Said Cherry as she grabbed his shirt collar and pulled him in for a passionate kiss.

King Dice wrapped his arms around Cherry's waist and pulled her closer to his chest. After a few moments the pulled away from each other, Cherry rested her head against King Dice's white tail coat.

"Now come on... we don't have all day" Said King Dice as he placed a hand on Cherry's back and guided her towards the bedroom door.

The whole five of them went downstairs and out the front door. King Dice had an arm wrapped around Cherry's waist and she had an arm wrapped around his waist. Cherry's mind was still consumed with all different emotions. She was terrified for her life... was today really going to be her last day? Suddenly she was snapped out of her thoughts when King Dice started talking.

"The dress really suits you Doll" Said King Dice as a light blush covered his cheeks, glancing down his side at Cherry.

"I have to admit... white looks pretty good on you" Replied Cherry as she giggled slightly, giving him a small kiss on the cheek.

For the rest of the way everyone was laughing and joking. It was the first time in a while that Cherry felt relaxed and happy on the inside. When they arrived at the Casino, Cherry felt her heart pounding in her chest. All five of them walked up to the front doors, unlocked them and walked inside. Suddenly Cherry felt King Dice tense up slightly, she looked up at him and could tell he was already worried.

"You're gonna be fine Dice" Whispered Cherry as she gave him a quick kiss on the cheek, giving him a comforting smile.

"Thank you Doll" Whispered King Dice as he lent down slightly and gave Cherry a kiss on the forehead, wrapping an arm around her waist.

The time went by pretty fast for the five of them. Soon enough it was time for the opening and all the workers had arrived around ten minutes early. Cuphead and Mugman noticed how tense Cherry had become since they walked in. Her eyes seemed to be glancing over each and everyone of them. While King Dice was talking a couple of them, Pirouletta managed to slip away and stroll over towards Cherry.
