XXIV CHAPTER: OLD LIFE MEETS NEW LIFE

My birthday is only one week away. And to be honest I do not know if I am excited for it or just happy to have my dad with me again. It is raining outside. I am reading a book and looking throughout the window from time to time. It has been almost two days since my dad and I talked about my relationship with Nova. I have not answered any of her calls.

Charmont also called me. She wanted to know about my dad's status. She has been a kind friend during this difficult time. She said she wants to come, but she did not promise anything. I do not blame her. There are so many more things before visiting her almost sister-in-law's father at the hospital.

I feel someone else's presence in the room, but I did not hear them coming in because I have my earphones on playing. 'Both of Us' by B.O.B featuring Taylor Swift is now on pause, because I turn my head to the door and watch Nova standing in there, under the threshold, staring at me with this mesmerizing look in her eyes.

It melts me through, but I need to be strong and still. I would not change my mind or give her any reason to make fun of me again. My dad wakes up.

- I guess we have company. Who is this beautiful young lady standing at my door? Is she the nurse who came to check me out? -

- No, Dad! This is Nova Waltz. -

- I know who she is. But now I am wondering... Does Nova Waltz speak by herself? -

- Yes Mr. Bach! I do, hello. It is such an honor finally meeting you. I have been looking forward to it. How are you feeling? -

- What are you doing here? - I interrupt their interaction.

- I just came to see how my father-in-law is doing after his 'Situation'. -

- It is not necessary, but thank you. - I reply in a hostile way, sort of.

- Olie, honey, can you please leave us alone for a moment? Thank you, baby. I am sure Nova wants to speak to her father-in-law a few words. -

- Okay, dad. Fine! -

I leave the room and in the nearest hallway, there she is Charmont Waltz talking to Greggie and Trev. I bet she brought Nova here after I asked her not to do it.

- Hey sister! How is dad doing? -

- Are you fucking kidding me Char? I asked you not to bring your sister and now, here you two are.-

- I am sorry, Olivia. But if you love my sister enough and as much as she has said you love her, you should listen to your heart first, then you need to listen to her and make it up with sex. Quite simple for me! -

- Is sex your answer for everything? -

- No, there is also alcohol, drugs, some meds, chocolate of course and if you are desperate, well, vacations. Nothing, like a foreign trip to spend quality time together. And having sex for sure! -

- Come here! Give me a big hug and a little kiss, big sister! - While holding her taut - It is great to see you Char. -

Whilst we all were at the waiting room, dad and Nova were talking. I really do not know what she has to say to him, I mean, she knows that my dad knows about us, but there is no point at all in talking about our relationship now that she is back with Jordan. It is meaningless! Anyhow, I know my dad. He is such a gentleman and he will listen, even it is just to make her feel comfortable.

Out in the waiting area, we were having fun. I love these guys so much and I know they love me back. They are the best friends and family I can have right now, they will help me get through this awful situation, not to mention my breakup with Nova, that is a whole different thing in the scale of pain.
