Susan stood before the firing line. Her circle red, white, and black target standing fifty yards away. She brought her bow string back to the back of her jaw. Robin studied her form and nodded her head showing that she approved of the stance. Susan released the arrow and the three girls watched it fly. The bullet fast red feathered gold cased arrow hit the edge of the black circle around the red bulls-eye. Susan cocked her head to the side and criticized her shot.
"Good shot!" Robin said as she brought her own bow from her back. Lucy looked impressed too and took her little dagger from her belt. Grabbing the blade she pulled her arm back and forced it forward letting the knife go. Robin had watched how the child brought back her arm, her stance was almost perfect as she released the knife. She followed the blade as it shot threw the air hitting the target right in the middle.
Susan was amazed at Lucy's hit and just stared in awe. Robin debated whether saying anything better than what she had just said, but instead she just said the same.
"Thank you." Lucy said with her sweet wide smile. "Can I see you?" Robin gave a smirk and pulled out an arrow. She turned her body to aim at the target to the right of the one the other girls' had been firing at. Pulling the string back she pressed her thumb to the back of her jaw and steadied her arm. The recurve bent back and gave her the force she need for the shot. Letting her thumb drop she released the string sending the arrow forward and striking the target directly in the middle of the red. Robin heard Lucy breath out a 'Wow' and Susan was starring at in her in complete shock.
"You'll get better, Susan. Don't worry." Robin truly meant that. "Trust in the bow, and it will not easily miss."
"That's what Father Christmas told me." Susan said with her wonderful smile.
Thundering hooves and neighing came from behind them, and quickly over the turf galloped Peter and Edmund. Swords in hand and horse and unicorn going as fast as they could. Peter was mounted on a white unicorn, by name of Arod, bareback with no tack of any sort. Edmund was on a brown stallion, by the name of Philip.
" Come on, Ed! Sword point up, like Oreius showed us." Commanded Peter.
"En garde!" Edmund yelled, but he failed it miserably in Robin's eyes.
"Now block." The boys had now gained the three girls attention, although Robin was not fond of watching them. They weren't to shabby, but she had to think they were far from perfect too.
A little brown dot moved quickly along the ground until it reached Edmund's horse. "Peter! Edmund!" It was Mr. Beaver calling. Edmund's mount reared and gave a small but frightened whinny.
"Whoa, horsey." Edmund cried as the horse came back down.
"My name is Philip." Replied Philip. Edmund gave an 'Oh' and stammered out a 'Sorry.' Then he looked at the beaver.
"The Witch has demanded a meeting with Aslan." Mr. Beaver said out of breath. The listening girls looked at each other and Robin was off before hearing any more.
