they walked out of the common room and all the way to the library where they had thought no one would have been

they were wrong

emerson grabbed draco's wrist harshly and pulled him back behind a bookshelf

"how did you even meet her" she said letting go of draco's wrist and threw her hands in the air dramatically

"we were in our vacation home and she was our neighbor. my father and her father decided to have a dinner together because apparently they knew each other. he talked about if me and you didn't end up working out then our arranged marriage could be canceled and i could marry astoria" draco said before taking a breath

"what the hell" emerson said fury practically dripping from her voice as she dug her finger nails into her hand most likely making indents

"my father didn't say anything back to him. but i excused myself from the table and walked back to my room but she followed me. then well she kissed me and i didn't know what was going on so i just kissed back.
i don't know why, i love you not her. i promise" draco finished

"well bloody hell. i'm going to kill that slag" she berated still digging her nails into her hand and walked away angrily

"trouble in paradise malfoy" a familiar voice said and closed a book before walking over to the boy

"what do you want potter" malfoy spat

"how the bloody hell did she not just leave you. is that what she likes complete bastards?" harry scoffed

"i know this is hard for you to realize pothead, but emerson loves me. i made a mistake so what? she still loves me and you can't stop that" draco said with a laugh before walking out of the library and back to the common room in the dungeons

"where's emerson?" draco asked walking over to blaise ,
theo , and olivia

"snape had to come and break up a fight between her and astoria they're with dumbledore now i'm pretty sure" theo said

"well damn" draco said

"don't do anything like that again malfoy, it probably won't end well" olivia said

"is that a threat?" draco asked

"it's not not a threat, but i'm just saying i know my bestfriend and she'll probably end up killing the next one so watch yourself" she said before getting up and walking to her dorm

"got a mouth doesn't she?" draco said with a laugh

blaise simply just rolled his eyes

"you guys excited about hogsmeade?" theo asked trying desperately to change the subject

"of course, i'll take any reason to leave here for even a few hours" draco said

later at dinner

emerson and astoria walked into the great hall where everyone was already in there

the stories had gone around about the fight they had, emerson obviously winning

she walked to her table and sat at her usual spot next to malfoy

"draco cussed earlier" theo said

emerson hit the back of his head

"draco lucious malfoy, you need to watch your mouth" she scolded

"whipped" blaise mouthed which made theo chuckle

emerson and draco wandered aimlessly around the halls hand in hand

"this probably isn't much of a good idea with sirius black breaking out of azkaban" draco said

"oh please, we'll be fine it's not like he's in the school" emerson said

draco nodded

they were practically lost at this point just talking and laughing with each other practically forgetting what had occurred only hours before.

emerson leaned in and kissed draco's soft lips

when a camera flashed

bloody hell

they quickly broke apart from the kiss and looked around but couldn't see a certain someone run away from the dots clouding their vision due to the flash

"oh god" emerson said

they really didn't want that photo to get out but what the bloody hell could they do. chase
the person who took it down and ask them nicely to delete it

doesn't sound much like them

"what?" draco said carelessly

"are you daft? whoever that was has a photo of us kissing and their more than likely going to put it in the daily profit. there's so much that could go wrong" emerson said rambling on

"all that will happen is people know we're together" draco said

"exactly, i know that you don't have to worry about your life being explicit from others but with me, people want me dead. people will kill the people i hold close just because of my father, and with no one knowing your family still worships voldemort well let's just say it'll put you in danger." emerson said holding back tears, tears were for the weak and she, she was not weak

"emmy, listen to me" draco said holding her head up with his hand resting under her chin gently

"i'm not going anywhere i promise"

"you can't control that love, i can't even control that" she said

"well i'm going to try my damned best to stay with you, they aren't going to get me" he said and planted a soft kiss on her forehead

she nodded and then embraced him, resting her head on his shoulder. he wasn't much taller than her so it was easy

"we better get back or snape will have a fit" she said

"yes, he will" a certain monotone voice said

"damnit" draco mumbled

"just get to bed" snape said and pointed towards the dorms

they nodded and walked back to their dorms
