Scott took Rose to his favourite place in Beacon Hills, the lookout point that rested just on top of a hill at the reserve— a bench overlooked the whole town of Beacon Hills and he always visited it when he needed time to be alone.
He'd parked his motorbike just outside of the reserve and they'd walked the rest of the way, he even gave her a piggyback when she started walking slower than him which he didn't think about.
When they finally reached the bench, they sat down, leaving space between them. Rose looked at the view in awe, but Scott only had eyes for one thing. Her.
"It's very peaceful up here." She noted, glancing over at Scott who quickly looked away. He nodded in agreement.
"It is... I come up here a lot." He admitted.
"Why?" She asked.
"Just to think... to get away from everything," he couldn't exactly tell her about the supernatural right now, "school mainly." He shrugged.
"Oh." She nodded before looking back at the town below.
Scott stood up and walked to the edge, taking in the view, as he turned around to tell Rose something he found her slumped on the ground.
"Rose?!" He shouted as he ran back to her, crouching besides her and checking her pulse.
Her mouth was covered in the black substance Stiles had told him about, "Rose?"
She was still breathing, but her chest was only rising and falling slowly. Scott panicked and scooped her up, carrying her out of the forest. He walked as fast as he could whilst carrying her, he headed straight to the veterinary practice to find Deaton.
The bell to signal a customer had walked in rang and Deaton walked out only to be surprised to find Scott carrying Rose.
"What happened?" Deaton asked as he ushered them inside, asking Scott to lay her down on his examination table.
"We were in the woods and I turned my back for a moment and when I looked back she was on the ground with this... this black substance everywhere." He said, panic rising in his voice. He was worried about the girl but he knew Stiles wouldn't react well either.
"Well it's a good thing I figured out what's wrong with her, isn't it?" Deaton said, looking at Scott with a slightly disappointing look.
"You did?" Scott asked hopefully.
"Yes," Deaton replied, preparing a needle, "it's pretty much the fact that her immune system is like a newborn child's, she's never been human and she isn't used to germs. So going to a school full of germs wasn't that great for her health. As for the black substance, well, it's her blood mixed with oil— something Stiles didn't consider when he turned a jeep filled with oil into a human. So it's just excess oil."
