Nearly a month passed with Jimin dodging Yoongi at every chance, like the plague. He started keeping to himself, watching as Yoongi's friendship with the others grew but their relationship remained still. Frozen in toxicity as Yoongi looked at him with apologetic eyes and Jimin glared back with resentment. To the point where Jimin stayed at home most nights. Hiding in his room and talking to Yeon KiMin.
The online relationship grew as the two talked. Jimin considered him a friend though he still hasn't seen his face. But he felt a kind connection between them as Jimin talked about his life back in Busan: his younger brother in school and his parents divorcing. Yeon KiMin talked about his own life: liking someone but never saying the right thing, his love of music and song writing, and his wish to accept himself. Somehow Yeon KiMin managed to stay vague in their talks but Jimin didn't mind. He simply enjoyed being able to talk to someone about his hard times.
After his final class ended, Jimin headed immediately for the dance studio. Taking the long way around the music department, specifically to avoid Yoongi. The route taking him outside, across the courtyard, and between the maim buildimg and the gym. Finally coming out at the back door to the dance studio.
Jimin opened the door eagerly, not seeing anyone else inside. He closed the door quickly behind him, shivering slightly from the cold winter air. As he turned, he jumped in surprise as the form of a person he hadn't notice came into view.
"Ah! Gabjagi!" Jimin shouted before realizing it was Yoongi. His eyes narrowed on the elder. "What are you doing here?"
Yoongi looked up at Jimin through his thick rimmed glasses, eyes calm, "You've been avoiding me. I thought I'd run in to you here."
Jimin sighed tossing his backpack and jacket on the couch before beginning some warm-up stretches, "If I'm avoiding you, it clearly means I don't want to see you."
"But I want to see you," Yoongi replied softly.
Jimin froze, eyes focused on the floor, trying not to let those words excite him, "Why?"
"To talk," Yoongi leaner forward, still seated behind Jimin. "If I had known you were a virgin I'd have-"
Jimin spun around, "You'd have what? Choose not to sleep with me?"
Yoongi nodded but didn't speak.
Jimin sighed, biting his lip and running a hand through his hair in frustration, "Look, Yoongi-ssi, I'm a big boy. I'm not a child. I may not have had sex but I've done things with other guys before. I came on to you and I slept with you because I wanted to. You seemed like you did too."
"I did," Yoongi interjected. "I still do."
Jimin blushed a little but the anger within him squashed it quickly, "But you don't like me?"
Yoongi sighed, "It's complicated."
Jimin stepped forward, "No, its not."
Yoongi finally stood, "I think you're sexy. I want to get to know you. But I don't do relationships."
"Then you don't get to do me," Jimin replied and turned back to his warm ups.
He could hear Yoongi walk towards the door and begin to open it, before he could leave Jimin called to him one more time, "Why don't you do relationships?"
Yoongi paused for what felt like an eternity before finally replying quietly, "Because all I do is hurt people."
Jimin frowned, keeping his eyes on the floor, "Then why didn't you stop me?"
Yoongi grew quiet again, replying quickly and leaving, "Because I believed you were worth the risk."
Jimin sat on the floor, stunned as Yoongi left him to his own thoughts. Immediately Jimin sprang up and ran out of the studio. His eyes searching the campus desperately for Yoongi's slender frame. When he caught sight be ran to him, stopping clumsily in front of him.
"What are you doing?" Yoongi asked in surprise.
Jimin, panting to catch his breath, replied, "Am... Am I still worth the risk?"
Yoongi just stared at him, in surprise and embarrassment.
Jimin, still trying to catch his breath, didn't give him the chance to reply, "Go on... On a date with me."
"What?"
Jimin rolled his eyes and took a deep breath, "Go on a date with me. Tonight."
Yoongi stared at Jimin curiously but agreed, "Fine."
Jimin could feel the wide smile grow on his face, "Pick me up at my house at 8."
"Alright," and at that Yoongi left.
Leaving Jimin to sprint back into the dance studio. Practicing away his excited energy in front of the mirrors. Feeling the bubbling spoils of his small victory.
