Jimin awoke with a pounding headache. Practically needing crowbars to pry his eyes open. Groaning loudly as he was blinded by the sun that poured through the windows. Sitting up slowly, feeling every bit of the hangover that weighed him down like concrete and chains on his limbs.
He sluggishly pulled himself from the bed, trying to be careful not to wake Yoongi. Knowing how touchy the elder was after being woke up. He threw on a shirt and some basket ball shorts before tip toeing quietly out the door. Heading for the smell of coffee coming from the kitchen.
"Good morning there Jiminie!" Hoseok said, entirely too loud for Jimin's liking.
Jimin squinted and hushed the elder as he worked to pour himself a cup of coffee, "Too loud, Hobi... Too loud."
Namjoon chuckled as he sat at the kitchen table, reading the news on his phone, "Guess we over celebrated a bit last night."
Jimin tossed back some pain medicine with a sip of coffee before looking at the others, noticing Jin eating quietly beside Namjoon, "I may have had a little too much wine."
Jin laughed and pointed to the 2 empty bottles of wine in the bin, "A little?"
Jimin laughed, trying to ignore the pulsating headache, and took a seat at the table, "I'm allowed to feel happy sometimes."
"Yes you are," Hoseok laughed, taking a seat beside Jimin. "I think we all had the right to enjoy last night. We needed it. Besides, celebrate the emigrate!"
The others stared at Hobi's not-so-clever rhyme and shook their heads. Jimin chuckling a little, always easy to laugh. Jimin sipped a bit more at his coffee as they all sat in comfortable silence. At least until that silence was broken by the chime of their doorbell. The ringing enough to pull the others from their rooms.
Jimin opened the front door to a familiar but unexpected face, "H... Hyung-nim?"The man smiled and stepped into the apartment, pushing past Jimin, "Don't pretend like you aren't glad to see me, Jimin-ssi."
Jimin smiled and closed the door, leading Heechul inside, "I'm always glad to see you Hyung-nim. But I am confused as to why you're here."
Heechul held up the briefcase in his hand and smacked it, a wide smile on his face, "I come bearing good news. But first... I need coffee."
Jimin chuckled to himself as he followed Heechul inside. Pouring him a cup of coffee as he said a rowdy hello to the others. It was nice seeing Heechul again after such a long time. Though it felt weird, somehow, seeing someone other than the seven walking around the area where his father's death took place. None the wiser to the fact that they were standing in a murder scene. It was an eerie visual to Jimin's eyes as he handed the eldest his coffee before taking a seat at the table beside Yoongi. Smiling softly at Yoongi's puffy face, clearly unhappy at being awake.
"Gomawo," Heechul replied to Jimin after taking a gulp of the warm coffee. "Ah~ Neomu jota."
"What brings you here hyung?" Namjoon asked as he patted the sleepy maknae beside him to help him wake up.
Heechul smiled widely, a devious smile he often used when bearing surprising news, "Well, since CEO Park's sudden disappearance the company was crazy and I was promoted. Thanks to HyeMi and Jimin's recommendations. Since the police have deemed the CEO deceased, as current acting CEO of Park Enterprises and co-legal counsel... I'm here as executor to your father's will."
Jimin looked at him, confused, "My father's will?"
Heechul nodded and placed the briefcase on the table. Rummaging through, pulling out a manilla folder filled with legal documents. He picked up the packet of stapled papers and turned to Jimin.
"I've already met with your mother and brother," Heechul began to read the document. "According to your father's last will and testament: "I, Park In Jung, being of sound mind and body hereby admit that the following stipulations are to be fulfilled within appropriate time of my death."
Yoongi held Jimin's hand beneath the table, as if the elder could feel his uneasiness as Heechul read the document.
"First," Heechul continued, "To my wife, Choi Mi Sun, I leave the house we once shared as a family. Completely paid for. I also relinquish 16% of Park Enterprises stock along with full sum of 4 Billion won."
Tears began to form in Jimin's eyes as he listened.
"To my youngest son, Park Ji Hyun, I leave the rest of my stock holdings in Park Enterprises along with my full collection of prized art to be auctioned off and the total sum given to him to the estimation of 9.2 Billion Won."
Jimin was on the verge of crying. His family would finally be taken care of.
Heechul smiled and looked to Jimin before continuing on, "And finally to my eldest son, Park Ji Min, I leave my company: Park Enterprises in his capable hands. I also bequeath to him the entirety of my savings account that I had opened for him at his birth. A sum that equates to 22 Billion Won."
With that, Heechul put the packet away and pulled out some more papers. Laying them out in front of Jimin with a pen from Heechul lapel. The smile still on HeeChul's lips, "Sign these papers and you're a very rich man, Jimin-ah."
Jimin couldn't move. He couldn't speak. He could only look to Heechul while his insides swirled with a mixture of emotion. He was surprised his father even had a will, let alone that he'd leave anything to his family instead of taking it to the grave with him. But he also felt guilt. Who was he to take this money from a man he killed?
Yoongi, seeing Jimin's hesitation, put the pen into the younger's hand, "You deserve this much just for putting up with everything he dealt to you."
Namjoon nodded and pointed to Yoongi, "Consider it due reparations for trying to run Yoongi-hyung over."
"And for threatening your mom and JiHyun," Jungkook added.
Taehyung also chimed in, "And for all those times he beat you for dancing and called you a girl and a faggot."
"And for the times he came home drunk and slapped your mom around," Jin said.
"And for leaving you behind like you didn't matter," Hoseok finished. "Sign the papers. If anything, you deserve this much."
Jimin's eyes scanned his brothers faces. Lingering for a moment on Yoongi's reassuring charcoal eyes. He nodded and signed every paper Heechul slid to him except one. Looking to Heechul.
"I don't want my father's business," Jimin said softly, pausing a moment before sliding the paper to Heechul. "But I need it to succeed for my mother and JiHyun. Park Enterprises has never been better under the guidance of HyeMi and you, Hyung-nim. I want you to have the business, Heechul-ssi."
Heechul stared at Jimin in surprise before turning back into himself, grabbing on to Jimin's shoulders, "You gave me a company! Is this a wedding gift?! Are you proposing?!"
Yoongi looked to the elder, emotionless and still half sleepy, "Ani-mida, hyung-nim. Mine."
Jimin blushed and covered his face with embarrassment at Yoongi's words before turning back to Heechul, "Seems I'm spoken for. But the business is yours. Just don't run it into the ground. Make it thrive so my family can be happy."
Heechul smiled sincerely and nodded, "I will. I promise. Besides, I don't think HyeMi would let me fuck around with the business."
Yoongi laughed lightly, "You definitely don't want to be on her bad side."
Heechul laughed, collecting the papers and standing to his feet, moving for the door, "Speaking of HyeMi, I actually have to get to a meeting with her. Yoongi-ah told me that you were all leaving for America. I really wish you all the best."
The group smiled and wished Heechul the best in return. Jimin seeing him kindly out the door and hugging him tightly. Feeling a bit better as he watched Heechul walk out of the gate and into his car. Driving off into the sunny morning horizon.
But Jimin was happy. Not only was his family taken care of, he now had the money to make a life with Yoongi and the others. The life he'd always wanted for them. He felt he could leave with a light heart.☆ ☆ ☆ ☆ ☆ ☆ ☆ ☆
Jimin was the first to exit the taxi he shared with Yoongi and Jungkook. Each filing out and collecting their luggage as Jimin paid the driver. Namjoon, Jin, Taehyung, and Hoseok slipped out of the second taxi. Collecting their bags as well before meeting up with the other three. Each of them holding tickets in their hands as they looked back at the city behind them.
They had each gone to their home towns and spent time with their family. Seven bittersweet farewells weighing heavy on their hearts as they entered Incheon Airport. Laughing and joking with each other as they all struggled to check in for their flights. Even a sad day, like leaving your home country, could be turned around in an instant as long as the seven of them were together.
After grabbing some food at one of the restaurants, the seven found the gate for their flight. Making it in time for a short wait before boarding. But before they could even board the plane, someone was there to stand in their way.
"Leaving the country pretty quick. Jimin-ssi. Trying to get away from something?"Jimin was clearly caught off guard, "D-Detective K-Kim...?"
Fuck... What now...?
