"Jasper!" Odette woke sitting up and screaming. She looked around the dark room and realizing she had had a bad dream, laid back down. Had her heart still been beating, it would have been racing. She closed her eyes and curled up in the blankets, trying to ignore the images that flashed in her head.

She had dreamt that she woke up and Jasper was nowhere in the house. When she searched the place, she couldn't find him anywhere. She went out to the dock and saw him standing next to a woman. Upon further inspection she noticed it was Arkhain. She watched as they leaned in close, smiling, and kissed each other deeply.

A deep pang rang out through her body, feeling like she had just been shot. Apparently she had shouted something because they both stopped and looked at her. Arkhain disappeared and Jasper just stared at her.

"Odette?" He asked. She was about to confront him when he suddenly collapsed to the ground. When she ran to him and laid his head in her lap, he was coughing up blood. There were no wounds to his body, but she could feel that he was dying in her arms.

"Jasper?" She asked, tears coming to her eyes. He turned an ashy color and coughed long and hard. "What is it? What happened?"

"I love you Odette. Don't forget that." And with that said, he coughed some more and closed his eyes, lying still.

"Jasper? Jasper?!" She screamed and screamed his name, but he didn't respond. "Jasper!"

She buried her face in her pillow and rubbed her eyes, blurring the images that kept popping up.

Jasper ran into the room and to her side. "Odette? What is it? What's wrong?" The lack of sleep showed on his face.

"It's nothing. Just a bad dream." She sighed and smiled up at him, reaching a hand up to touch his face. "Go to sleep. You look horrible... Are you okay?"

"Just a rough night." He grumbled and laid down on the bed next to her. "Did you end up sleeping at all?" He asked quietly, turning onto his back and glancing at her. She looked a little better than she had before, with a little more color in her cheeks.

"Yea." She closed her eyes and curled up more. "Though I feel like I could keep sleeping." She looked over at an ornate clock that hung on the wall and realized that it was almost six at night, the time she would have to get used to waking up at. "You should try going back to sleep. You need it."

"No, I am fine. Unless you go to sleep." He smirked over at her. He stifled a yawn and stretched. "What would you like to do today?"

"I don't know." She looked up at the ceiling, yawning. "I really don't feel like doing anything."

"So you do want to sleep all day?" He laughed and rolled over onto his side, looking at her. "Are you sure you are alright?" He questioned, noticing her pillow was wet. "Were you crying?" He scooted closer to her.

"Just a little." She shrugged and smiled at him. "What do you want for breakfast? I can make whatever."

"No, take it easy." He moved until he was up against her, their bodies touching. "What's wrong? What happened in your dream that made it so bad?" He smoothed some of her hair away from her face and kissed her forehead. "I've never seen you cry after a dream."

Odette looked away and played with her hands. "It was just a bad dream. That's it." When he didn't respond she sighed and said quickly, "I dreamt you died. In my arms."

"Died?" He laughed. "Odi, it's hard to kill a vampire." He pulled her close and laid her head on his arm. He began brushing his hand slowly through her hair. "What killed me in your dream?"
