A few months since she had changed back into a human and had most of her memory erased, Odette was on her way to one of her monthly doctor visits. She rolled down the windows to her old crimson red convertible. After working for two months at the local 24/7 Supercenter, she had finally been able to save up for a deposit on her own car.

Odette pulled into the driveway of the well decorated mansion. She had first thought it weird that her doctor worked out of such a lavish building. And that he worked nights only. But after she talked with him, she found out that he owned a private practice and worked with medicines and natural remedies. She climbed up the front steps and knocked on the door. Almost instantly the door opened wide and a young man in a tux stood in the doorway.

"Good evening Luke." Odette smiled. "I'm here for my appointment."

"Right this way Odette." He smiled back and led her into the sitting room. She took a seat in the armchair she always sat in and looked around at the familiar surroundings. Books lined the walls and upon the mantle over the stone fireplace sat all sorts of interesting knick-knacks. After a few minutes the door opened and a well dressed man stepped inside.

"It's good to see you again. How are you feeling?"

"I'm good. How are you Harland?"

"Very well, thank you." Smiling broadly he sat in a chair before her and began taking a look at her vital signs. "Have you been having any problems lately?" He asked, a stethoscope to her wrist as he recorded her blood pressure.

"No. My asthma has been fairly dormant over the past week or so, which is nice."

"That's good to hear." She leaned back and lazily swung her leg absently. Harland placed a hand on her knee and proceeded to check her reflexes. "Anything different at home? Any stresses?"

"No." Odette replied with a shrug. "I bought a car and have taken up extra hours at work. But I'm not really stressed about anything."

"Okay," He placed the stethoscope to her chest and back, listening closely to her slow heartbeat. Still as slow as when it first re-started, yet making a normal loud thumping. He stood from the chair and Odette copied him.

"You seem perfectly healthy. I'm glad to hear about your asthma getting better. I think it had to do with the medicine I had you taking before." Harland wrote something down on his clipboard and smiled down at her. "I would like you to continue taking the medicine, but slowly work your way off of the inhaler. Soon, with the progress you have already been making, you won't need either."

"Really?" Odette's eyes widened, a large smile spread across her face.

"Yes. I will go fill up a bottle for you then you may leave." He left the room and met her at the front door. "Here," He handed her a small green bottle filled with tiny orange pills and a piece of paper. "Those are the instructions you will need. The dose is a little different this time. If you have any questions, call me. Also, I would like to have you come by in a couple weeks just to see how the medicine is working. Alright?"

"Okay!"

"And thank you again for agreeing to test my newest medications."

"Of course. So far they are helping me, so I think your studies will do great once you publish them."

"Thank you Odette." Harland grinned and escorted her to the door.

Still smiling, Odette got into her car and drove back home. "Mom, I'm home!" Walking into the kitchen she poured herself a glass of water and wandered to her office where she had been doing paperwork when she left. " Harland said I'm doing well. I may even be able to be off of the inhaler soon." When she stopped in the empty room she got a feeling that something wasn't right.
