"Are you sure? Once you do this there's no going back... ever."

Odette kissed Jasper's cheek with a smile. "Yes, I'm ready."

"And you know I have to drain almost all of your blood first to truly change you."

"I understand." They had met up for breakfast earlier that morning and Odette was insistent that she become a vampire again.

"Alright..." He lifted her onto his lap and leaned over her before gently sinking his fangs into her neck. At first she cringed, the sharp pain stabbing through her body. He held her tightly and continued to drink. Eventually the pain turned into a dull throb and she became severely light headed. The room began to spin and just before she was going to pass out, Jasper withdrew his fangs and licked his lips before licking the bite marks closed.

"It's okay Odi," He stroked her hair lovingly. "Just a little longer." Jasper bit into his wrist and held it in front of her. The smell of blood made her nauseous but she weakly brought his wrist to her mouth and let it pour down her throat. Choking and gagging on it, she forced herself to keep swallowing. Eventually she grew calmer and he pulled away.

"The change will take a lot of energy from you." After licking the wound closed, he picked her up and brought her to his bedroom. He laid her on the bed and tucked her in before sitting beside her. "Now go to sleep Odi. You need it." She yawned and curled up, letting the darkness of sleep overtake her.

Odette woke two nights later, gasping and thrashing in bed. She clutched at her unmoving chest and nearly panicked before remembering that she was no longer human. She climbed to her feet and stumbled from the room, searching for Jasper. She felt different this time. There was a hollow feeling in her body, and a raw hunger that pushed at her stomach. A low growl escaped her lips and she clamped a hand over her mouth. As she turned the corner she bumped into Red.

"I'm sorry Miss. How are you feeling?"

"It's okay. I'm fi-" Another deep growl reverberated from her throat as natural instincts took over. She had never felt such inner turmoil and raging hunger. Her eyes glazed over with a red tint and she stumbled to the side. Red stepped back but Odette crouched toward him with a predators ease. The scent of human blood filled her senses and took control, shoving all common sense and propriety aside. She was hungry and there was a meal standing right in front of her.

"Miss, I would advise against attacking me."

Odette bared her fangs at him and hissed before lunging at him. He whipped out a stun gun from a pocket in his jacket and jammed it into her stomach, letting loose strong electrical charges. She doubled over on the floor and twitching, let out an animalistic scream of pain. Jasper and Lestat, who had been enjoying a couple cups of coffee, burst out of the library to take in the scene.

"What happened?" Lestat asked as Odette gingerly picked herself up off the floor. Her eyes glowed bright yellow with red around the pupils.

"She's wild Sir. She tried to bite me. So I used this, as you instructed me to." Red held up the stun gun before returning it to his pocket.

"Shut up! Human..." Her voice was low and guttural, the words spoken with a growl.

"Odette..." Jasper reprimanded. "Calm down."

Odette bared her fangs again in defiance, challenging both male vampires in front of her. Lestat bared his fangs right back, strengthening his stance and asserting his dominance over her. "You are in my territory and will behave as such." He growled, his eyes flashing the same as Odette's. "I will not tolerate this kind of behavior in my home."

"This doesn't have to come to fighting." Jasper stood to the side of them both. He had rarely seen Lestat get so riled up, but when it came to a challenge of territory, any vampire would take it seriously. "Really Lestat, we just need to lock her up and give her blood a little at a time. Teach her how to be a real vampire."

"Shut up!" Lestat growled even deeper, his shoulders lowering into an attacking position. "I am teaching. Teaching this fledgling what will happen if she doesn't respect her elders!"

She went to jump forward but Lestat was far faster. In a blur he had her pinned against the wall and scraped a fang across her cheek, digging a gash in her skin. She snarled at him and tried to bite at his hands that were holding her back. He pushed her shoulders hard, slamming her into the wall. She shook her head, dazed slightly before looking around the hallway with clearer eyes.

"Are you going to be civil now?" Lestat asked, his fangs starting to retract. She caught sight of Red and growled hungrily again before shaking her head and nodding. She relaxed her muscles and crossed her arms when Lestat released her.

"That's much better. Thank you." He dusted off his clothes and turned to Jasper, keeping an eye on Odette who was staring after Red as he retreated to the Library. "I'm sorry about that, but there are certain things that set me off."

"I know this..." Jasper grumbled as he walked over to Odette and leaned down to lick the cut on her cheek. His tongue had just gone over her skin to start the healing process when she stepped back and growled low. He narrowed his eyes and tapped her face, "Don't be rude."

"Let's get her some blood. You know where the stores are." Jasper nodded and disappeared down the hall. Lestat strolled off in the opposite direction toward Jasper's room, pulling Odette along by her wrist. She growled low but followed obediently, only tugging on his hand every now and then to check his grip.

After bringing her into the room, he sat her down in the chair by a small table. "Now, you will sit here and wait for Jasper to return with a meal or you will be thrown out of my home without any knowledge or help of how to survive on your own. Do you understand, fledgling?" Odette hesitated slightly before nodding her head. "Very well. Stay here and wait for Jasper." With a final glare in her direction he left the bedroom, hoping she would actually listen.

A little bit later, Jasper came into the room with a small cooler. He set it down on the table and reached inside, pulling out a medical bag of blood. After ripping the tube out, he handed it over to Odette. She sniffed at it and looked like she was going to be sick before her eyes flashed. Her fangs shot out and she bit into the bag, sucking every bit of liquid she could. The flavor was thick and disgusting, but her hunger was so great that it overcame the taste. Jasper handed her the last two before she fell back in the chair, a full satisfied look in her eyes. Blood coated her face and shirt.

"Better?" Odette nodded and licked her lips. "Good, then you need to clean up. There are clean clothes in the bathroom." Getting her to her feet she stumbled off into the shower. Jasper lounged on the couch to wait. Half an hour later she came out and stood in front of him.

"How are you feeling?"

"Really tired..." She yawned and rubbed at her eyes.

"It's almost sunrise." Jasper smiled and pulled her down on top of him. "As a fledgling you won't be able to control how long you can stay awake before you have to fall asleep. The older you get, the better you will become at controlling everything. Even eating."

"Eating?" She cuddled up to him and rested her head on his chest, closing her eyes.

"Yes. Vampires can't eat food without throwing up. However, over a lot of time you can train your body not to reject food as easily. That's why vampires like Lestat and Arkhain can eat solid foods now and then."

"Oh..." She yawned again and smiled, "That's nice..."

"Shh... Go to sleep Odi." He held her close and brushed his fingers through her hair.

"... Hey Jasper?" She mumbled on the verge of passing out.

"Yea?"

"I love you."

Jasper chuckled and kissed her forehead. "I love you too Odette."
