Thursday, January 11th

Yoongi was tapping his pencil on his new desk, which was now in the back of the classroom. He was not sitting with Namjoon and Hoseok anymore, he refused to. His teachers didn't really mind much, as the boys were constantly talking and disrupting class, and gladly let him move.

It was lunch period and he was waiting for the bell to let him finally be able to socialize with someone. Well, kinda.

He wouldn't admit it but he was really glad that he had actually talked to Jimin in the first place. In the very beginning, he felt like it was wrong, that he should've left the boy alone in his own world instead of throwing himself in but now he's happy that he did.

Yoongi knows there's plenty of other people he could've bothered, hell he could've actually talked to his crush and avoided the problem entirely, but he can't say that he regrets it entirely. Jimin is so interesting to him.

Although he does regret not using the adrenaline and stress to talk to Nari instead of Jimin. He's been fawning over her since they started that school year. Yoongi was a senior and through his four years of highschool he didn't have a crush on anyone, until he met her.

Something about her made him weak in the knees. She was stunning, flawless skin and beautiful long black hair. When Nari came to school the first day, Yoongi was immediately infatuated. She's a japanese exchange student and although her korean isn't perfect, Yoongi still finds her voice soothing like honey.

He found himself so deep in thought about her that he didn't even hear the lunch bell. Some kid bumping into his desk on the way out startled him as he looked around the almost empty classroom.

Yoongi shoved his notebook and calculator into his backpack as quickly as he could. He wanted to see Jimin as fast as possible.

He threw his backpack on and darted out of the classroom. The halls were crowded so he had to slide past people but he finally made it to the cafeteria. He didn't even want to waste time in the lunch line so he went straight to Jimin's table.

A soft smile spread on his lips as he saw the soft pink hair in his sights. He didn't think that he'd be this excited to see the boy only on the second day of knowing him.

Once at the table he set his bag down on the floor and sat in his seat. Jimin looked up from his notebook and smiled timidly at the older.

"Good afternoon Jimin!" Yoongi smiled as he panted slightly, exercise isn't his cup of tea.

Jimin only nodded before he went back to doodling in his notebook. And honestly, Yoongi was disappointed.

He knew not to expect anything extraordinary after only just meeting the actual socially inept boy. But wanted a little more engagement.

Yoongi looked helplessly at the boy who was still drawing in his book. His dry pink hair was tucked behind his ear and his hand that wasn't using the pencil was clutching his three layers of clothes. His skin was dry and covered with a layer of what Yoongi assumed to be foundation.

He had an unopened ziplock bag of strawberries next to his notebook, which looked so fresh and almost fake. Yoongi found himself oddly staring at the plastic bag.

So much so that when Jimin looked up at the older, he was still staring at his snack. Slowly, Jimin pushed his strawberries over to Yoongi as he noticed that the other didn't have his own food.

"O-Oh I can't take your food," Yoongi said and pushed it back to Jimin.

The younger glared at him, and the sudden showing of expression shocked Yoongi, he pushed the strawberries back over. This little pushing game went on for about two minutes. Just back and forth and back and forth, till finally it stopped.

Jimin smacked his hand over the bag and began to quickly write something in his notebook.

'Listen up. Take the darn strawberries, I'm not hungry anyway.'

"Are you sure?" Yoongi immediately softened.

Jimin just nodded and slowly pushed the bag back over to Yoongi. The elder took the bag and began to eat the packaged snack. He watched Jimin begin to write in his notebook again as he devoured the treat.

'Show me how to spell your name'

Yoongi was confused but obliged anyway, writing his full name under Jimin's request. It was then that he realized how ugly his handwriting was compared to Jimin's. He pushed the notebook back over and tore the end of the strawberry out of his mouth.

He watched Jimin read it, twice and maybe even three times, before he nodded and went back to his drawing.

Although it wasn't what he had imagined, it wasn't bad. Jimin's shyness was something that was so opposite of his friends. His timidness was a nice change from their obnoxious behavior.

"What are you drawing?" Yoongi asked before he bit into another strawberry.

The younger boy physically tensed, clutching his pencil tightly in his hand. Yoongi didn't mean to make the boy more nervous, he didn't know what was okay to say and what wasn't.

Jimin slowly slid the notebook over and showed Yoongi the sketch of a butterfly that he had been working on for the past ten minutes. And Yoongi was a bit shocked, he didn't expect Jimin to be so good.

"Wow you're really good." Yoongi admired the drawing.

When he looked up at the younger he was expecting a smile, but was met with a face full of fear. Yoongi's small smile fell as he watched the boy yank his notebook back and turn his head down to stare at it.

'Min Yoongi you fucking moron,' he thought as he watched the boy look as if he was having a panic attack.

His fists were balled up in his shirts and his head was hung low. Yoongi could tell that the younger wasn't okay but he couldn't find any words to say, he didn't know if he'd somehow make it worse.

So no more conversation was made for the rest of the lunch period. Jimin stayed in his position while Yoongi ate the rest of the strawberries.

When the bell rang neither of the boys moved. Jimin slowly raised his head to look up at the older, who was already looking at him.

"I'm sorry Jimin." Yoongi said and pushed the bag over to Jimin.

There was one strawberry left. Jimin watched the older get up and walk away to class. His eyes drifted to the strawberry left in the bag and he felt a soft smile spread on his cheeks. He didn't want to like the older so fast but he missed having friends, having real friends.
