Saturday, April 14th
Jimin and Yoongi were sitting in a small coffee cafe on a calm Saturday afternoon. This is the second little trip that Yoongi had taken Jimin on that month, both times to the same cafe. It's become their favorite place to hangout, besides Yoongi's house.
"I don't think you'll be able to guess this one," Yoongi said as he set the new game of hangman on the small table between them.
The younger giggled silently and wrote down the letter A under the dotted lines. They've been waiting for their drinks for roughly ten minutes and Yoongi decided that they should play another one of their useless paper games.
"Here's your iced caramel macchiato and hot chocolate," the waiter said and set their drinks on the table.
Yoongi thanked the waiter and Jimin bowed. It's become such a strange thing for Jimin, to let someone else actually buy him things. It made him really uncomfortable honestly but Yoongi was so determined to get the boy at least a cup of water.
"We'll continue once we're done," Yoongi said and Jimin nodded.
They sipped on their drinks quietly and listened to the soft piano music playing in the background. Jimin got a kids sized hot chocolate, which he knew he wouldn't finish anyway, but it was oddly sweeter than he remembered.
He paused, setting his cup on the table and looking through the large windows in the front of the cafe. Watching the cars drive past through the cold spring air, it was oddly soothing.
"Jimin," Yoongi paused to chuckled lightly, "look at me."
Slowly, he turned his head to face the older who had his hand over his mouth to control his laughter. Jimin's eyebrows furrowed together as he looked at Yoongi, wondering what was so funny.
Suddenly Yoongi leaned over the small table between them, empty hand just barely cupping Jimin's face. His thumb swiped gently over Jimin's top lip as he gathered the whipped cream that was stuck there.
He leaned back into his seat and stuck his thumb in his mouth, cleaning the cream off. Jimin's face erupted in color. His heart was racing in his chest as he watched Yoongi wipe his saliva off onto a napkin.
How was he being so calm? Yoongi just picked up his drink and continued to look throughout the cafe. Jimin felt like his heart was going to explode out of his chest, hands beginning to shake.
He liked that too much, he likes Yoongi's touch way too much and he knows it. Jimin hates when people touch him, but when Yoongi does it, it's like he can't get enough of that feeling.
Yoongi finished his drink, Jimin still staring with a shocked expression as he looked at the unfinished game of hangman on the table. The older chuckled when he saw how oddly Jimin was reacting.
"I'm sorry Chim, I won't do it again," he smiled and set his empty cup down.
Jimin shook his head no, reaching forward and grabbing Yoongi's hand that was resting on the table. He brought the open hand to his face, making Yoongi cup his cheek softly.
The older couldn't move, partially because he had no idea what was going on, but he definitely wasn't going to pull away. Even when Jimin's cold fingers let go, he held his hand there.
And Jimin took his hand flat to his chest, his thumb and middle finger coming together as he drew his hand away from his chest. His eyes were locked on Yoongi's, and even though he had no idea what the signal had meant, Yoongi knew it was important.
So he nodded and both boys pulled away from each other. Jimin took another sip from his hot chocolate before he set it down the boys continue to play their game of hangman.
This was some of the best times for Jimin. Spending comfortable time with Yoongi was his favorite parts of the day. And he often found himself to be really sad when he would get dropped off at the orphanage at the end of the day.
Now it was late that same Saturday night. Jimin and Yoongi had already said goodnight to each other over text and they were supposed to be sleeping. But a certain black-haired boy was far too busy to even think about sleeping.
It was midnight and he was hunched over on his bed, scrolling through a website on his laptop. He hasn't been able to think about anything else other than what Jimin had done at the cafe while he was holding his cheek.
Yoongi knew it had to be sign language, but he had no idea what it could've meant. He tried to look for simple sign examples but none of them were what Jimin had done. He had looked for a while and was starting to get tired.
And right when he was about to give up and finally go to bed, he decided to look one last time. But this time he just typed in the action to his best ability. A list of 100 common signs was the first thing to come up.
A soft sigh left his lips as he began to scroll through the many, many different signs and definitions. He was almost falling asleep, eyes drifting closed as he endlessly scanned through them.
Till he finally found what he was looking for. Like.
Most of the time I start the sign from my chest with my middle finger and thumb pointing back toward my chest (but not touching either my chest or each other). Then I move the hand away while bringing the index and thumb together into a pinch.
Like.
Jimin liked it when Yoongi would touch him. Jimin had really told him to his face, that he liked it when Yoongi would touch him. And the realization made a huge smile spread across Yoongi's face as he kept thinking about Jimin doing the action over and over again.
And he went to sleep with that same cheesy smile glued to his face.
Yoongi knows it, whether he really notices it or not, he really likes the boy too. Maybe even more than he ever intended to. He's forgotten about his true intentions and past.
His intentions for Jimin are completely different now.
