Joe was not in the best of moods as he sat at the meet and greet table. He was trying to get into signing autographs, trying his best to put on a smile, but his heart was aching terribly.
And it didn't help matters that Jamie dropped a huge bombshell on him last night.
He heard laughter, and looked up to see Amelia and Bryan in the corner of the room. He was whispering something in her ear. He felt his insides boil as he watched Bryan slip an arm around her waist, and kiss the side of her head.
He signed the last autograph, and was about to get up from his chair, when he felt an arm on his.
"Don't forget," Donnie said, "We have pictures."
Joe sighed, and sat back down, wanting nothing more than to get the hell out of this room. Away from her laughter that was depressing him.
It didn't take a rocket scientist to figure out something had happened between the two of them. He saw Bryan leave her room early this morning, take her in his arms and kiss her passionately.
He went through the motions as the fans piled around him, wanting pictures with him, and he tried to engage in tamale talk, tried to get into it, but he just couldn't.
After the pictures, Joe felt an arm on his, and he turned to see Ali, her blue eyes sparkled with her concern.
"Are you okay? You don't seem yourself."
"Yeah," Joe sighed, "I'm fine."
Ali led him out into the hall, and crossed her arms. "Joe, I've known you for sometime, and I know when somethings bothering you. You love these meet and greets. Tonight, you just weren't here."
Joe leaned up against the wall, and raked his hands through his thick hair. "Jamie and I had another nasty fight."
"Oh," Ali put a hand on his shoulder, "Joe, I'm sorry."
"That's not all. What caused the fight? She might be pregnant."
"Really?" Ali hissed through her teeth. She knew what kind of Jamie really was, only out to trap Joe.
"I made sure I was careful, I made sure of it. Somethings just not addin up."
"What do you mean?"
"I don't think the baby's mine." Joe said as he looked at Ali. " I think she might be playing me."
"Do you mean as in trapping you?"
Joe heard a door open, and then saw Amelia walk out of the green room, a smile on her face. Ali then noticed the look Joe had on his face. Her face fell when she saw the hurt.
"Oh Joe, I'm so sorry. I had no idea or I would have never set the two of them up."
Joe shrugged and stepped away from the wall. "It was never meant to be." He fave Ali a sad smile. "Better friends than nothing at all, right."
Ali sighed as she watched Joe walk down to the green room, her heart aching for her friend. Ali was in a rock and a hard place.
She was happy to see that Amelia seemed so happy, but o mute same sense, she knew how heart broken Joe was. She knew how long Joe had held a torch for Amelia.
Was it too late for them?

"Hey, Nick. Can I get a scotch on the rocks?"
Joe had been sitting at the corner of the bar, nursing a beer, when he heard that voice that haunted his dreams. He looked up to see Amelia sit on a stool, and as the bartender sat the drink in front of her, she sat her purse on the counter.
As she took a sip, she looked around the lungs, and then, her green eyes fixed on him. She gave him a ghost of a smile, and then turned her back on him.
Joe stood up from his table, then slowly walked over to the bar, and sat down next to her, placing the beer on the wooden surface.
"Hey." "Hi"
"So, can I interest you in another one?" He pointed to her glass.
"I just got this one."
Joe held up his empty beer bottle, and motioned to the bartender that he wanted two more.
"I know. I know. You usually have two." He looked around the lounge. "So, where's Bryan?"
Amelia took a slow sip of her drink. "He's upstairs making a few phone calls."
"I see." Joe paused and took a sip of his beer. " so, you excited about coming home?"
"Yeah. You?"
"Sure, I guess." Joe shrugged.
"Joe," Amelia turned so she was facing him, concern reflected in her eyes. "Are you okay? You just don't seem yourself."
"Just some shot going on," Joe sighed. "So, you and Bryan seen to be hitting it off." He took a sip of beer and noticed the small smile that crept onto her face.
"Yeah, we are."
"That's good." Joe nodded. "Is he good to you?"
"It's only been a few weeks, but yeah, he treats me pretty good."
Joe turned to her, and forced a smile onto his face. "Well good." He held up his beer. "Cheers."
She clinked her glass to his and smiled. "Cheers."
