Joe pulled into the driveway to see that Jamie's car was in the driveway and he let out a huge breath as he got of his SUV and walked through the garage to the kitchen.
Jamie was sitting at the table, several magazines scattered along the table and she was flipping through one. She looked up when she heard the door open.
"Oh baby!" She jumped up from the table. "You're just in time." She grabbed his hand and pulled him to the table. "What do you think of this flower arrangement? I was thinking roses at every table. Maybe get them dyed in our colors."
Joe sighed. "Jamie...I don't want to go over that right now."
She put a hand on her hip. "We have to...the florist needs my answer by the end of the day in order to have it in time for the wedding."
Joe sat her down on the chair, holding onto her shoulders. "Jamie..you and I need to talk."
She tilted her head. "About what?"
Joe scooted a chair and sat in front of her. "I don't think we should be getting married."
She looked at him for a minute, than began to laugh. "OH..good one Joe..very funny."
Joe took the magazine out of her hand and sat it on the table. "I don't want to marry you Jamie..I'm sorry..it's not right."
"What do you mean it's not right? It was right a week ago, it was right a month ago." She stood up from the chair. "It's her, isn't it? You're in love with her. My god!"
Joe stood up, holding out his hands. "No, it's not like that."
Jamie pointed a finger at him, her blue eyes filled with hate. "This isn't over Joe...oh no...it's not..you're gonna regret not marrying me. Mark my words."
Joe let out a breath as Jamie stormed out of the kitchen. "Well..that went well."

Amelia was watching the rain fall outside the window, her hands were on her stomach. Her left hand was covered in tape that was holding the IV in place. This IV was giving her some pain meds and fluids.
She heard a knock on the door and she turned her head to see Ali. A smile came across her face as her friend walked into the room.
"Hey, how are my babies? They still won't let me see them."
Ali looked at her. "What? You haven't seen them yet?"
Amelia shook her head as Ali pulled the chair up to the bed and sit down. "No, that stupid nurse, the one with the big ass mole on her cheek, said as long as I have a fever, I can't see my babies."
Ali smiled. "Oh Melia, they are so beautiful. Riley is a spitting image of Joe. He's been in the nursery every day, staying almost all day. Annabell, looks so much like you. They are getting stronger."
They both turned their heads when they heard a knock on the door and Dr. White stepped in, a folder tucked under his arm.
"Amelia...I need a word with you." He looked at Ali.
Seeing the look in the doctor's face sent a chill along Amelia's spine. She had been feeling like something was wrong, but nobody would tell her what it was. She reached for Ali's hand, and squeezed it.
"No, she stays." She gripped Ali's hand.
Dr. White sighed and took out the folder and flipped it open. "We ran some lab tests and noticed your white blood count was pretty high. Have you been in pain some time?"
Amelia looked at Ali, than Dr. White. "Yes, when I was pregnant. I had stomach pain. But was told it was because of my pregnancy."
Dr. White sighed. "Well, yes. The pregnancy did mask this."
Amelia felt her heart pound as she looked at Dr. White. "Mask what?"
"I hate to beat around the bush Amelia. But we found a cyst on your ovary when we did the C -section for Riley. I did a biopsy right then and when your blood count came back high, I did the test." HE looked at her. "I'm sorry, but it came back positive for cancer."
Ali gasped and put a hand to her mouth. "Cancer?" She felt Amelia squeeze her hand and turned to see the paleness in her face.
Dr. White crossed his arms "Amelia..had we caught this in time.it might be a simple procedure. But I'm afraid the cancer has spread to the uterus and tubes. In order to get this cancer out, we have to do a hysterectomy. I'm sorry."
Amelia shook her head. "No, no. There has to be some mistake."
Dr. White sighed. "I'm sorry Amelia, I wish there was some way. But this is the only way to make sure we get it all. I have you scheduled for tomorrow."
Amelia watched as Dr. White walked out of the room and she let out a breath.
"That's it? Oh god Ali....my babies..." She stopped and put her hands to her face and began to sob.
Ali sat on the edge of the bed and held Amelia as she cried. "It's OK. It's gonna be OK." She kissed the top of her head, hoping that she was right.
