Hannah sat in bed as she began to sketch one of hundreds of drawings before and as she glanced to her window she noticed light oozing in.
"Morning already?" She sighed in disappointment. She glanced at her phone and looked to the time.
"6:30..." she opened to the messages and tapped on a contact titled 'Jake' and tapped on the message bar. When she pressed the send button she tossed her sketch pad to the side and got up. Suddenly her phone began to ring. She picked it up and groaned and answered.
"You couldn't have just texted me back?" She asked.
"I was in the middle of doing my hair." Jake defended. When Hannah hung up she put her phone down and walked to her closet and pulled on some clothes. She walked out of her room and walked out her front door.
When she approached the high school she noticed a strange, light grey rock sitting at her feet. It stood out from the rest and grabbed her attention. She knelt down and picked it up. She ran her finger over the surface and put it in her bag. She walked into the cafeteria and saw Jax, a good friend sitting at a table by himself reading a book. She walked over and threw her bag onto the table. Jax jumped slightly and closed his book.
"Hey." He mumbled.
"Hi." She replied cheerfully. As they started to talk Jake sat down beside them and sighed. Before Hannah could get a word out a girl sat down beside Jake in a very cheerful mood.
"Hi Jake!" She exclaimed with a smile.
"Hello Lila." Jake said attempting to sound cheerful. Hannah turned back to Jax and rolled her eyes. Jax grinned and laughed. As Lila walked away Jake had a defeated look on his face.
"What's up?" Hannah asked.
"I have rehearsals until 5 and the movie started at 4:45. Y'all will have to go without me." Jake mumbled. Ignoring what Jake just said Hannah asked for the homework.
"Yeah, here." Jake mumbled as he took a piece of paper from the bag and handed it to Hannah.
"Why don't you give me the answers Jake?" Jax asked with a laugh.
"Because we don't have the same class dip shit." Jake retorted quickly. Hannah laughed and soon a bell went off. The three got up from the table and walked up a flight of stairs where Jax strayed off to a class whilst Jake and Hannah went to the room opposite of him. Hannah threw her bag onto the table and sat on a stool. Jake tossed his bag down and sat opposite of Hannah and rested his head on his hand.
"Hey, I found this weird rock on the ground outside and it almost had a glow of some sort to it." Hannah said quietly. Jake raised his eyebrow.
"What do you mean?" He asked.
"Look." Hannah spoke as she yanked the rock from her bag and put it Jake's hand. Jake ran his hand over it and squinted at it.
"What is it?" Hannah asked.
"There seems to be some weird markings on it. Almost looks like a symbol for air." He mumbled as he gave the rock back.
"A symbol for air?"
"Yeah, there's swirls over the top of it and they resemble air. " Jake finished. Hannah shrugged and tossed the rock in her bag.
"I get why you got the rock in the first place, but why keep it?" Jake asked as he pulled out a binder.
"I don't know, just seems like something I should have." Hannah defended. Jake shrugged and soon a girl walked in and sat next to Jake.
"Hi Jake." She spoke with a high pitched voice.
"Hello." He responded.
"Have you seen anything for Theatre Pro yet?" Jake asked.
"Not yet, we probably won't until the end of the year." She responded. Jake sighed and rubbed his temples as if to release a pain.
"What's wrong?" Hannah asked.
"Nothing, I just got this really bad headache." Jake mumbled. Hannah nodded slightly as she flipped threw the pages of her sketchbook and began to draw as the bell rang.
