Through Thick and Thin

As the cops surrounded Jake one yelled at him.

"Stay right there!"

Jake rolled his eyes and let his hands fall. As they hit his side Jake snapped his fingers and a massive crack etched itself in between Jake and the cops. Jake got to his feet and shoved his hand outwards. The cops were knocked to the ground by an unseen force and Jake raced into the air. Suddenly, Jake remembered his coat and turned back. He saw it on the ground and saw a cop getting up. Jake sped towards the coat and as he landed the cop drew his gun.

"Freeze!" The cop boomed. As Jake grabbed the coat and started back into the air a shot rang out. Jake felt a blinding pain in his back and he hit the ground with a thud. The pain was unbearable. Jake suddenly saw noting but darkness.

Jake suddenly jerked awake as a bright light flooded his eyes. As he squinted he noticed the room was all to familiar.

"The hospital wing? How did I get here?" Jake mumbled as he felt a pain in his back. Yet something was off. Jake was still in his clothes from the fight and not a gown. He flung his feet over the side of the bed when something yanked on his left arm. He glanced back to see an IV sticking out of his arm and into a machine.

"Shit." Jake mumbled as he knew what he would have to do. He grabbed the IV with his robotic hand and closed his eyes. He took a deep breath and yanked the IV from his arm. He quickly grabbed a bandage and tape from the table and immediately wrapped the wound. As he made his way towards the door a woman walked in and gasped as she gazed directly at Jake.

"What are you doing up?" She demanded as she grabbed for Jake.

"Not so fast lady, I know the base was taken over, I know whoever shot me in the back was an agent of William's. So cut the act before I cut you." Jake demanded as he backed up. The woman suddenly lurched towards Jake. His robotic arm took action and struck the woman in the jaw. Jake grabbed her with his other hand and forced her against the wall. The woman grabbed Jake's arm and twisted it violently.

As Jake turned with it he forced himself backwards and pinned the woman against the wall. He than head butted the woman and as he turned he grabbed her throat with his metal hand and lifted her up.

"Be sure to give me a check, 'cause I'm checking out of this hell." Jake muttered as he flung the woman across the room and she crashed into a table. Jake held out his hand towards the door and a sudden burst of energy sent the door flying off the hinges and crashing into the wall. Jake stormed out of the room as an alarm began to echo.

Jake ran threw the halls as he found the hall towards the garage. Jake looked towards it than a heard of guards were racing towards him. Jake gulped and ran into the garage. He grabbed a key from the hook and held it in the air. He clicked the button and a horn echoed from the back of the garage. As Jake found it he noticed it was a key to a motorcycle. As he turned to get another key the guards broke in the door and looked for him.

Jake climbed onto the bike and started it. As the bike's back tire spun the guards saw him. Suddenly the bike shot forward. Jake looked at the massive door as it began to close. Jake held out his hand and focused. Suddenly the sound of metal breaking forced his eyes open and he stared in awe as the massive door ripped open as he sped threw.

As he shot down the road he heard engines behind him. Jake glanced back to see two trucks speeding behind him. At a moments notice Jake pulled on the handle and the bike shot up on its back wheel. Jake let his feet grind on the ground and two lopsided ramps shot from the ground. Jake let the bike down and looked back.

The trucks hit the ramps and crashed onto their sides. Jake sped off down the road, hoping that Hannah and Lilli kept on their way towards Florida. Suddenly a car sped onto the road behind him. Jake forced the handle down and the bike roared with power. Jake than saw multiple trees laid across the road. Jake quickly thought of something. He held out his hand and the trees slowly started to hover. As Jake drew closer towards them the stopped moving and just hovered three feet off the ground.

Jake than pushed the bike onto its side and skidded under the trees. As he reached the other side he let go of the trees and the crashed to the ground. Jake slowly got up as his robotic arm lightly jolted. He watched as the bike slowly began to burn and fall apart. Suddenly the car screeched to a stop and two people got out. Jake fry his heart leap when he saw Hannah and Lilli start to find their way threw the fallen trees.

As he began to move the trees aside Jake saw a man running at them with a machine gun at his side. Jake forced the trees out of the way as his heart sank back down.

"Get down!" He yelled. Lilli and Hannah didn't hear him but saw him running. As the man drew closer Jake managed to clear all the trees as he sprinted towards Lilli and Hannah. As the man raised up his gun Hannah spun around as did Lilli. Jake managed to force Lilli to the ground and as he started to force Hannah down a shot rang out.
