I slowly opened my eyes as I started to wake up. I turned onto my side, checking my clock. 5:36 am. God dammit Mark, this is the fifth time this week. Ever since the phone call I made a year ago, I would wake up sweating from a dream I could never remember. It kills me, the fact that I never can remember what it was about. I went to appointments with dream specialists to try and recover them, but even they can't pull anything up. The strange part is, I would check my calendar and see they would always come during a full moon.
I need to find her, I don't care what I'm giving up or sacrificing. I need to see her face, hear her voice. I swing my legs over the edge of my bed and climb off the bed and make a beeline to my journal on my dresser. I open it up and start writing,
Day 368
It happened again, the dream. I should probably count how many times I've had this dream. But it doesn't matter, this dream was different from the others. I remember some this time, I remember wolves and her voice. I remember a forest too, and an old abandoned castle. Nothing's stopping me this time, I'm going to find her no matter what.I slap the book closed and set it back down and head into the kitchen where Tyler and Chica were having breakfast. Tyler looked up from reading the newspaper and drinking his coffee and looked up at me.
"I'm leaving." I said to him, grabbing my wallet and phone charger that I usually leave in the kitchen.
Tyler shot up from his chair, startling Chica and dropped the paper and set down the mug. "You're what?!"
"I'm leaving." I repeated, then walked to the counter to make myself some breakfast.
"But... why? What about Chica? Your subscribers? What about me? And the house? Everything you've worked so hard for?"
"I had that dream again." I replied as I poured myself some coffee, "and I'm determined to find her. The only problem is that I don't know where she lives."
"What about looking it up, like in the phone book or something?" He asked, folding the paper up and setting it down on the table.
I looked at him tiredly, "Does it look like I have a phone book?"
"No, but luckily I picked up one just last week." He said, then got up and went to the living room. As I waited I grabbed a box of cereal and a bowl. "Here it is!" Tyler called from the living room, and seconds later he walked in carrying a large yellow book.
I sighed, overwhelmed already. "Okay, let's do this."

An hour later I finally found her address, turns out there's a lot of Taylors in Ontario. I copied down her address on a notepad Tyler had brought as we were looking. I pocketed the note and headed straight to my room to pack my things, I would need a bunch of clothes for the trip. And Tyler would have to rearrange my schedule, maybe I should do one last thing with going outside and doing things with the fans. Or maybe a livestream. I threw in clothing until I couldn't fit anymore things, then went and grabbed my bag and shoved in my phone charger, my laptop, my laptop charger, a couple of photos I printed off, and more clothes along with a tooth brush and other toiletries.
It's been one year, three days, thirteen hours and twenty seven minutes since I last heard her voice; and it's been even longer since I've seen her face, and her wonderful smile that could bring joy to the whole room. Ever since she left my life have been turned upside down and backwards, and her voice haunts my dreams.
With my bags and my fresh feeling of optimism and determination, I gave Tyler one final hug goodbye. Grabbing my car keys, I gave Chica a final kiss on her forehead.
"Are you sure you don't want us to come with you?" Tyler asked, petting Chica for reassurance.
I paused for a moment. "It's probably for the better that you two stay. I won't be very long, maybe about a couple weeks."
With one final nod from Tyler, I swung open the door. What happened next was beyond shocking.
Standing outside was a girl, but not any girl. She looked exactly the same, but a better build and a nasty scar over the left side of her face in the pattern of claw marks. It was Echo.
She raised her eyes to look at me, "Hello Mark."
