Do you smell or hear anything? What is it? I asked Capricorn worriedly, slowly sliding out of the car. I had told Mark to stay in the car, windows up and doors locked.

Uh, I don't know anymore than you do about it. It smells weird, I don't like it. She answered, her voice afraid and defensive. She must really not like whatever it is in the bushes.

Should we shift? I requested, unsure what to do as I steadily approached the bushes.

No, we're by a major road and a horse ranch. If drivers see you, we're toast. If the farmer sees you, you'll be a wolfskin rug in his living room.

I have to admit, she had a point. But I didn't want anything to ruin the date, so I approached the bushes and pulled the branches aside, revealing Jack and a pale man. "Jack?!"

His head snapped towards me, "h-hi Echo!" He answered in a nervous tone.

"Who's your friend?"

"My name is Seth, Seth Bloodstone." The other man answered, he had black hair and hazel eyes that dared me to challenge him. Naturally, I accepted his dare.
I could tell by his accent and name he wasn't human, but a vampire. "What are you doing in the bushes?" I asked suspiciously. With no warning, Seth lunged at me with full force, "Jack! Run!" I ordered and fought back, shifting into a wolf. My dress slides down my figure and it quickly got covered by dust and dirt.

Vampires are especially hard to fight in wolf form, where you can't watch your exposed back or your six.

I decided to lead him away from Mark and Jack to keep them safe from Seth. The vampire took the bait and followed me, swiftly following behind.

Mark's POV
The bushes were trembling for a moment where Sam had gone to investigate. A couple seconds later Jack had appeared out of the bushes eyes wide and panicked. I quickly unlocked the doors and he scrambled in, slamming the door behind him. "What happened?" I questioned, ignoring the fact he came out of nowhere.

"Sam... Pale guy... Attacked me... Sam attacked... Pale guy... Names Seth..." He stuttered between laboured breathes.

I debated between staying here and waiting for Echo and getting Jack home. I bit my lip in frustration before making up my mind.

Echo's POV
I heard a truck start up and pull away, knowing it was Mark and Jack I continued on, happy that they were safe. Now all I had to do was get rid of this guy. I turn my head to see if he was still following me when I run into something hard and sturdy. I turn my head back and see that I ran into an old Oak tree, cursing my own stupidity I turn around to face the vampire.

Staring at him, he casually walked up to me. "You're wandering about the Oath, aren't you?" I nodded, my legs in a defensive stance, unsure if I could trust him yet. "Well you see, you're friend... what was his name... Jack, wasn't going to be my next meal, no. He was just a way to grab your attention, and it seems I have gotten it effectively. I need your help."

"So, what is it?" I asked, I was sitting beside him in a new white Mitsubishi with a black interior going well above the speed limit.

"Well, my family is missing our newest member Riley. She was out hunting with my father Will and brother Max. Only my brother and father came back."

"Why do you need me? Don't vampires have a good sense of smell too?" I asked, having a hard time connecting dots.

He chuckled, shaking his head slowly "Alright, you got me. I'm bringing you to talk about the upcoming war. I am one of the chairmen of the Royal Vampire Council, and we've caught wind of this war. We want to help."

It wasn't long until I was fitted with a proper outfit and presented to this Vampire Council, and only a couple gave me a warm welcoming smile and looked willing to help. A few whispered to their neighbour and others gave me dirty glance. One was even sleeping, or maybe they weren't. I'm not too sure if vampires sleep. They all sat at a considerably large and round oak wood table, which definitely wasn't new and just boughten.

The chairs looked equally old with two twisted frames and the back reaching just above their head and stopping at a point. On the back was a faded red cushion that went down onto the seat as well. The legs of the chairs slightly curled forward and ended in the shape of a paw. The arms ended in the shape of a paw too, and curved down then up, like a calm wave stuck in time.

My legs were getting tired from standing, but still I patiently waited to be invited to sit. These people were not like my friends, who I would have sat a long time ago no. If I sat that would just be a disgrace to werewolves around the world.

My eyes landed on a painting, which was of The Great War. It was a long battle between us and the Vampires, but I'm glad it's over and we can set aside our differences.

"Miss Taylor. Please, have a seat." The head Chairman spoke, and by his accent I could tell he isn't new like the furniture. His hair was sleeked back and a greasy looking black. His skin was a deathly pale and his eyes seemed to sink in to his head. He had many wrinkles and bags on his face, turned at an older age than most. His nose reminded me of a vulture, for it was long and large, which curled slightly down.

I complied and gracefully took a seat, resting slightly on the edge as to not get too comfortable. I gazed about these new and strange people, some young looking and others, not so much. One of the vampires caught my eyes, he looked almost exactly like Legolas from The Lord Of The Ring movies.

"Huh." I muttered to myself, I have to admit. He was kind of cute.

"We have caught wind that you and your kind have declared war on the demons. We would like to help you, but first you must answer our questions." The Head Honcho spoke with authority.

I nodded, then raised my hand in acceptance. "Ask away."
