Eddie couldn't get her name out of his head.
Metina
Metina
Metina
He couldn't stop thinking about those lips, those eyes, that hair, that laugh, her genuineness, just her in general. Eddie returned home with a smile on his face. He looked like a schoolboy, blushing and skipping.
"What happened to you?" Chris asked, rubbing his eyes. It was clear he had just woken up. He took a bite of Cheerios and stared at Eddie.
"Ed?" He asked. He had never seen Eddie like this. He began to worry when Eddie walked into the kitchen and his smile didn't fade.
"Edward!"
"Huh? Oh hey." Eddie said, shaking his head and trying to focus on his friend. Chris stood up and walked slowly over to the younger boy, his eyebrow cocked high. Eddie jammed his hands deep into his pockets, his eyes wide and bright.
"You...went surfing?" Chris asked, his voice skeptic.
"Yup!" Eddie said, a new found enthusiasm in his voice.
Chris walked closer and felt Eddie's forehead, "Are you sick or something?"
"What? No. I'm absolutely perfect!" Eddie smiled and turned on his record player, playing "Surfer Girl" by The Beach Boys.
Little surfer little one
Made my heart come all undone
Do you love me, do you surfer girl
Surfer girl my little surfer girl
I have watched you on the shore
Standing by the ocean's roar
Do you love me do you surfer girl
Surfer girl surfer girl
We could ride the surf together
While our love would grow
In my Woody I would take you everywhere I go
So I say from me to you
I will make your dreams come true
Do you love me do you surfer girl
Surfer girl my little surfer girl
Well
Girl surfer girl my little surfer girl
Well
Girl surfer girl my little surfer girl
Well
Girl surfer girl my little surfer girl
A grin found Chris's face as he realized what was wrong with his friend, "Eddie.....you only listen to The Beach Boys when you're in love.... What's her name?"
Eddie blushed even harder, "Who's name?" He lied.
"Hmmmm....let's see. She checks off all your boxes doesn't she? She surfs? She's got long, brown hair? Big brown eyes? Big ideas? Big tits? Genuine? Oh! Nonconformist too?" Chris smiled, he knew exactly what Eddie wanted.
Eddie blushed even harder, realizing how perfect Metina was for him.
"I've gotta see her again."
Chris shook his head sarcastically, "Ah, young love. Go get cleaned up and we'll talk."
Eddie followed the older boy's orders and got in the shower. He washed himself as well as he could, trying to look his best. He dried himself off and scrunched his hair, letting it fall naturally down his chest and back. He pulled on a 'Soundgarden' tee shirt, just to make Chris mad (for my friends who don't know, Soundgarden was Chris Cornell's first band, and current band at the time in this story). He got on his favorite shorts, all duck taped together, and his Doc Martens.
