Faith POV
After Jason's pep talk Tim and I just looked at each other and we made the silent agreement to just take some good photos. We finished and everyone came back in. I went to get changed as they all looked through the photos. Apparently there were good ones, I'm sure I'll see them later. I need to go get my brother a wedding gift so I say goodbye to the crew and thank them all for their work. I stroll out to my car when I hear some calling for me.
"Faith!" I turn around and see Tim. Oh lord. I've been hoping and praying that Betty kept her word and didn't tell him what I said yesterday.
"Hey." I say as he jogs towards me.
"I didn't get a chance to say anything before you left but good job today." He says sheepishly.
"Thanks. You too." I say backing up against my car.
"You have plans today?" He asks.
"Yeah I need to go get my brother a wedding present." I say. I'm running out of time and have got no idea what to get him. No one I know that I'm super close with has gotten married yet so I've never done it before.
"Really! Which brother?" Tim knows them both, hell they were close even. They watched football together, went on golf trips and I think Tim and Wes even went skiing together.
"Wesley." I say.
"Wow! That's amazing!" He says sounding so happy for him. I mean I always thought I was gonna be the first of us to get married but yeah it pretty amazing, I don't say that though.
"Yeah except I don't know what to get him." I say.
"Well you're supposed to be getting the two of them something." He laughs.
"I thought you just got something for the person who's side you're one?" I say confused.
"Oh Faith, no. You're supposed to get them something that they can use in their house, or something like that." He explains.
"Oh but that's boring." I sigh. He just laughs at me. "You wanna come with to help me pick something since you're such an expert?" I ask. I don't know why. I just do. It feels right for some insane reason.
"Ummmm." He says unsure.
"This is me trying to be a friend." I explain. "I go shopping with all my friends."
"Okay, sounds good. Shall I follow you or?"
"You can ride with me if you want, save the planet." I say getting in my car. He walks round to the other side and gets in.
"Faith, don't take this the wrong way, are you gonna hate me again tomorrow?" He asks before I start the car. I understand where he's coming from. I mean I was nice to him when we had dinner and then the next day I was awful. He's allowed to be trepidatious.
"Yeah, about that. I'm sorry. I think it was just the whole Scott thing and I took it out on you." I lie.
"It's okay." He says. I drive to mall while he flicks through the radio channels.
"And here's a favourite from our favourite female vocalist of the year nomination Faith Hill!" Says the radio presenter as the intro to Breathe comes on.
"Hey mine too!" Laughs Tim.
"Eww, change the channel. I can't listen to myself." I say cringing.
"Oh well, I can." He says leaving it on. I just try to block out the sound of my voice. "Your vocals in this are amazing!" He says. I just blush as I pull into a park at the mall. I put on some sunglasses just in an attempt to be less recognisable. I follow Tim into Bed Bath and Beyond. He shows me all the options.
"These are boring." I sigh. "I want to get them something unique. It's my first brother getting married. It needs to be special."
"Um...." he says pondering. "Let's try some more places." He suggests. As we walk around the mall we've been recognised by a couple of people and have stopped to take photos but it's been fairly low key, thank god. We spend a good few hours walking around trying to find something before I start getting hangry.
"I need a cheese burger." I announce as we leave another store empty handed. I drag Tim to the food court despite his protests that 'it's all processed' and that he 'can't eat any of that crap'. I walk up to the MacDonalds counter and order two cheeseburgers with fries and a chocolate shake. I left Tim to save us a table. The service is quick and I return to him with a tray of MacDonalds.
"Faith, I seriously cant." He says as I put it down in front of him. "Just because your metabolism will let you..."
"Shut up mr six pack and eat your burger." I say unwrapping mine. "When was the last time you had one of these?" I ask.
"Probably a couple of days before I last went to rehab." He says.
"Wow." I mean how else do you respond to the rehab bomb? "Please eat your burger." I say to him. "I don't want you to pass out from all the cardio we're doing." I joke. I hate cardio.
"Fine." He gives in like I knew he would. He unwraps his burger and takes a bite. He groans.
"Good right?" I ask.
"Better than sex." He jokes. We sit and eat while we brainstorm some more gift ideas. According to google there's a thrift shop still in the mall. We finish our meals and walk towards it. "I can't believe you still dip your fries into the milkshake. I thought you might've grown out of that." He laughs. We walk around the thrift shop until Tim finds the perfect gift.
"Tim that's perfect!" I say racing over. It's a vintage Bar Cart, with all the accessories.
"I think Wes will love it." He says. "And then you could get him a nice bottle of whiskey or something to go with." He suggests.
"I'm obsessed." I say stroking the cold cast iron. "His fiancé will love it too, she's one of those bohemian chicks." Tim laughs at my description and helps me take the cart to the check out. The cashier helps us box everything up so that we can carry it back to my car. Tim bends down to pick it up and as he carry's it the flex of his muscles is rather distracting. We eventually reach the car and cram it in.
"Thanks Tim." I say as I drive him back to his car.
"No problem, I had fun." He laughs.
"And you had burger." I say to him laughing.
"I can't believe you made me eat that." I pull up next to his car, and he hops out.
"Next time we'll do some Taco Bell." He laughs.
"I'll see you tomorrow bright and early ready to do some interviews."
