We all tried to walk into the doors at the same time and ended up getting stuck. I laughed and squeezed my body into the door. The loud music pounded against my ears, threatening to crush my skull. Brittany threw her arms up and shouted. I laughed and grabbed Shawn's wrist, dragging him right into the crowd of bouncing, energetic people. I stood in front of Shawn and laughed as he put his hands on my waist, turning my body from side to side, in rhythm with his. I put my hands up and pressed my front against his chest. He pulled me close and we stopped moving completely. I stared into his eyes and the smile faded into a small grin, then vanished completely. I put my hands down and onto his cheeks. I brought his face down to mine and kissed his lips gingerly. A body bumped into me and I lost my balance. Shawn's arms held me to him, preventing me from falling. I giggled and pulled him over to the bar.
"What non-alcoholic drinks do you have?" I yelled over to the bartender. He pointed to a wooden board that was placed on the wall. The sign read:
Non-Alcoholic Drinks are for pansies.
I sighed and just ended up with a Mike's Hard Lemonade in my hands. Shawn got the same drink. We popped the caps off on the bar and payed him $15. Shawn said he was going to sit in a couch in the back of the room for a minute, so I told him I'd try to find Brittany. As I weaved throughout the crowd, I caught a glimpse of her black dress and shining heels in the crowd. I stumbled over to her and yanked on her arm.
"Have a drink!" I yelled, handing her my my bottle. She took a long swig and smiled, wiping her mouth with the back of her hand. I danced with her for a good ten minutes before my bottle went empty. I pulled her over to the bar and got two bottles of Bud Light Lime. Brittany and I soon found out that that stuff made you piss fast. I ran to the back of the room with heels in hand. I busted through the bathroom, surprisingly finding it clean. I ran into a stall, slammed the door shut, and peed as fast as I could. I couldn't wait to get back into that crowd and dance. When I went to wash my hands, I looked into the mirror. I pulled the ponytail down and ruffled my hair up. My makeup wasn't smudged yet so I left it alone. Strapping my heels back on, I left the restroom.
Finding my friend again, I dragged her back into the crowd, my vision blurring after having 3 bottles of the beer. The buzz was numbing, but in a good way. The people around me jumped and laughed at each other, not caring who they danced with. I looked up and saw the DJ having just as much fun. Brittany wandered away to dance with a guy she was talking to when she first arrived. I smiled and danced with the people around me until my legs couldn't take it anymore. I wound around the people until I broke free in the back of the club. People were littered across the black couches. I plopped into what seemed like the only free spot; next to a couple making out. I grimaced and looked away from the disgusting scene happening beside me. I took off my heels and set them next to me.
"Oh John," I heard the girl murmur against her partners lips.
"Katie..." he murmured back. I whipped my head around to get a closer look at the people. The girl, I didn't recognize. But the guy, oh I knew damn well who that was. I shot up out of my seat.
"What the fuck Shawn!" I yelled, grabbing the girl by the hair and ripping her off of his lap harshly. She grabbed my dress and pushed me to the floor. I screamed in disbelief and pulled her onto the floor with me. She landed on her stomach, so I took that chance to hold her head down with one hand and punched repeatedly with the other. She kicked me a couple of times and left long scratches from her acrylic nails on my arms. I punched her once more before Shawn yanked me off. I smacked him hard across the face and stormed out of the club.
