Miranda's POV
"Aaron baby, wake up." I purred softly into his ear. The only response I got was a long groan. "C'mon Aaron. We have to check up on the inmates." I gently pushed on his shoulder and he groaned again.
"Miranda, can't we just sleep for 5 more minutes?" He asked sleepily. I shook my head and rested it on my hand.
"No, I can hear that bitch screaming from all the way up here. We don't want the neighbors hearing them, now do we?" I asked innocently. His face fell a little then he regrettingly got out of the bed.
"I'll be down in a few." Aaron told me as he kissed my cheek.
"Okay baby. I'll tell the Boss to shut them up." I exited the small room we had together and walked down the hallway to the Boss' room. I knocked softly and waited for him to answer the door.
"Is she screaming again?" I heard a groggy Crischen ask.
"Yeah. Maybe you should try your flamethrower on her?" I asked through the door. I heard the bed squeak as he got off of it. Suddenly, the door for open and Ren slapped her hard across the face.
"Hey! I thought that if we helped you with this, you'd promise not to hit us!" I exclaimed as I rubbed my now red cheek. He scoffed and pushed me out of the way as he stepped around me.
"Take care of them yourself." He growled at me. A lump grew in my throat as I thought of beating people to a pulp, let alone the fact of beating Katie and all of my former friends.
"Can't I just tend to Shawn today?" I asked with my fingers crossed behind my back. He looked at me coldly and I nervously tucked the loose strands of red hair behind my ears.
"Didn't you hear me the first time? You're such a stupid whore. I give you simple directions and you can't even follow those. Maybe I should just cut them all off now, and cut your pay?" Ren growled menacingly. I shook my head quickly and he smiled then disappeared down the dark hallway and down the creaky staircase. I gulped and walked back into my room to tell Aaron.
"We have to beat the inmates." I said softly to Aaron. His head jerked away from his phone as he looked at me in disbelief.
"I..." He began, but soon became at a loss for words. I felt my eyes begin to tear up and a silver droplet streamed out of my hazel eyes. Aaron encompassed me in a tight embrace and I wept into his shoulder.
"I know baby, but if we don't do it, Crischen will kill us and them. C'mon, let's get this over with before we do something we regret... Well you know what I mean." Aaron told me. I nodded and wiped my eyes with the backs of my hands. Aaron nodded curtly and stood up from the bed, setting his phone on top of the thin black covers.
I headed for the door but felt a tug on my elbow. I turned around and was immediately kissed powerfully by Aaron. I responded as soon as his lips touched mine and wrapped my arms tightly around his back. He held my cheeks as I kissed him wildly. I pulled away for a breath and looked at him in his eyes.
"We'll make it through this. Maybe we can find some of those ski masks that Crischen sometimes wears. I know where he keeps them." Aaron told me as he twisted the knob on the door and stepped out, keeping a tight hold on my wrist.
Aaron guided me into a dark room. As the door creaked open, the light from the hallway caused metal weapons to glint and shine in the black room. I winced when I saw an array of different sized nooses. Aaron saw my reaction and pulled me over to a mahogany dresser. He began to open the many drawers and stopped to pull out two black scraps of fabric. He handed me one and slid his over his head. I put my mask on and walked quickly out of the arsenal. Aaron and I walked silently down to the cellar, blocking out the screams that we heard on the way. I forgot about the prostitutes. I thought to myself as I grabbed the key ring and found the correct one. My hand began to shake as I attempted to unlock the large amount of locks. The last click sounded and I placed my hand on the handle. I closed my eyes and took a deep breath, turning the handle and pushing the door open. Aaron put his hand on my lower back as he led me around the corner and maneuvered me around boxes and other miscellaneous items.
"Where are they?" I whispered into his ear. He was about to say something when a scream cut through the silence like a knife through butter.
"Over here." Aaron told me as he tightened his grip on the least painful weapon he could find: a leather belt. I held the same weapon.
As we rounded the corner, we began to see lumps of scattered bodies laying across the cold concrete floor. I gulped when I saw the holed masks and muzzles. I saw long, matted brown hair poking out from behind a dark brown mask. Katie. I thought to myself. Aaron walked over to a body and began to whip it. Screams once again filled the air and my ski mask soon became soaked with tears as I beat my best friend with a belt. I knew that if we didn't get the job done right, Crischen would kill us all. I can't let that happen. I won't, I thought as I lashed her back 3 more times. Katie's body shuddered as she received more of the life-threatening blows to her back and legs. I raised the belt above my head and smashed it down as hard as I could. Katie turned over slightly and her eyes grew wide as her mouth dropped open.
"M...Mir?" She asked, tears streaming newly down her cheeks. I picked up my hand and drew it over my face. My ski mask is gone.
