Sorry for the crappy chapter that is to come
"Hello?" I answered.
"Oh, so your phone does work." Caleb's voice sassed.
"What? What are you talking about?" I asked, confused.
"Zayn said he's been trying to get ahold of you for the past week." He announced.
"Oh, yeah." I stated with a flat tone.
"And..." He urged. "You answered my call on the first ring. He's been saying you send him straight to voicemail."
"Oh, so he suddenly wants to keep in touch?" I snapped.
"Look," he said in a calm manner. "I don't know what's been going on with you two, but I do know that he misses you like hell. He's been ringing me off the hook asking about you."
"If he really missed me he would've come back, or at least explained to me what was going on." My voice was filled with an emotion I couldn't really label. "I thought I understood why he left. I tried to understand, but now I can't even remember what it was that I understood. I just don't want to play this game anymore, Caleb."
He stayed silent for a moment before I heard a sigh. "So that's it?" He asked.
"Caleb, it was only two months."
"Three." He snapped. "But you guys acted like it'd been a year."
"And maybe that's where it all went wrong. We moved too fast."
"In the past year that I've known him, I've never seen him so comfortable around anything or anyone. It's not my place to speak, but you're the best thing that's ever happened to him. Spenc-"
"Caleb, just stop!" I exclaimed. "None of that matters. If he's so comfortable around me, if I really am the best thing that has ever happened to him, he'd be here with me. But he's not. And he took whatever we had left with him."
"But Spencer-"
"Goodbye Caleb." I tapped end on my phone and leaned against the tree that just happened to be there. I hadn't realised how far I had walked from Niall's house in that short amount of time. Mine was only a couple blocks away.
I threw my head back and let tears escape my eyes. I silently sobbed to myself. I didn't think I'd have to hear about Zayn again, let alone tried to be convinced to get back with him.
I just couldn't win for losing.
It's not like I don't agree with Caleb, I understand where he's coming from, but like I said, none of that matters if he isn't here at all.

I barely remember anything from the party. I remember walking in with Niall. I remember him handing me a cup. Now that I think about it, I don't think I went a second with out a drink in my hand.
I woke up on Niall's couch with an arm and a blanket draped around me. I sighed in relief when I realised it was Niall's arm and not a random guy; but reality caught up with me and I sat up immediately.
Niall's arm moved away from me and he slowly sat up, squinting his eyes and taking in his surroundings. "Spencer?" He questioned. "You alright?"
I ran one hand through my hair, trying to collect any memory of the night before. "We didn't-...did we?" I refused to even look at him, I just stared at our sprawled out legs.
He stayed silent, for a little too long. I looked over at him in fear and I was half relieved that he was just gathering his thoughts and not holding back the answer that I didn't want to hear.
