Hawkins, Indiana
Christmas EveChristmas time is always the most wonderful time of the year. But this year for the Evans' siblings it was not so much that case. Tracey and Fred Evans had decided to go on a vacation during the holidays, without their children. As the Evan parents were still semi responsible they asked around to see if anyone could watch their children, and as the kind loving mother she is Joyce Byers agreed.
As Jessica picked up her brother from the Wheelers' house after their eight hour Dungeons and Dragons game, Daniel finished packing as Jessica stopped by Steve's house to give him his present.
"Hey Jess." Steve smiled opening the door
"Merry Christmas". Jessica smiled "I got you a present."
"Come on in, let me grab you yours." Steve said opening the door up all the way
Steve quickly ran upstairs and grabbed Jessica's present as she stood at the door.
"Open yours first!" Jessica smiled
Steve quickly ripped through the first present, like a little kid; ecstatic to see what he had gotten.
"It's not much, but because my parents are out of town we can't spend Christmas together this year." Jessica smiled
Steve opened the neatly wrapped gift to reveal black ray band glasses.
"These are to wear when you need me close to you." Jessica smiled putting them on Steve "and to cover up any gnarly black eyes you get."
"Thanks Jess." Steve smiled
"Open the other one!" Jessica said
Steve smiled as he opened up the bigger present.
"What's this?" Steve chuckled
"It's the bat, that you used to help us with the Demogorgon." Jessica said "it's for whenever you need to attack, you know, just not on people....maybe a tree when you're pissed."
"Thanks Jess." Steve smiled hugging his friend "now open yours!"
Jessica opened her sloppily wrapped present, smiling at what she saw.
"A locket?" Jessica smiled
"Yeah, open it!" Steve said
Jessica opened the locket to see two sides, on the right was a picture of her and Steve, their first time they hung out that wasn't at school. And to the left was the most current picture of the two, as they went to the movies together, as Steve's mom begged for a picture, thinking that Jessica and Steve were going on a date. Two moment the two would never forget, a start of a new friendship, and an embarrassing but funny moment for the two.
"Thank you Steve." Jessica said hugging Steve
Steve gently took the locket and lifted up Jessica's long blonde hair, putting on the locket.
"My present is nowhere to yours." Steve said
"Are you shitting me it's amazing." Jessica smiled
For just a moment, the two friends were facing each other in silence, both wanting to lean towards the other and kiss them, but that all got inturupted by Daniel honking the car horn.
"I...I better get going Daniel's waiting."
"Okay, um bye Jess." Steve smiled
"Bye Steve." Jessica said shutting the door "Merry Christmas asshole!"
"Merry Christmas dork!" Steve smiled

"Remember although Will's your friend you still have to be respectful." Jessica said to her brother
