November 3 & 4, 1984
Hawkins, Indiana

The Spy

"Jessica! Jessica!" Daniel said shaking his sister

"Wh—what the hell?" Jessica asked quickly sitting up

She was lying in a hospital bed; with an oxygen mask over her face.

"Will—is in tro—trouble." She breathed taking her mask off

"Hey, looks like someone's awake, Jessica when you feel better we need to quarantine you." A nurse said

"Quarantine?" She asked sitting up further, almost instantly coughing

"Sorry—wring word we need to clean you from your contamination, just press the nurses button when you feel better." She smiled walking away

"Daniel what the hell *cough* happened?"

"Well, when you, Joyce, and Bob were looking for Hopper you got dragged down by slug things—and you blacked out. You started freaking out like you were having a fricken seizure or something. Same with Will, but they put you out before you could freak out as bad as Will did."

"Daniel—Listen, it's here to *cough* it's going to hurt you stay away from Will and I *cough*."

"Jess, What do you mean it's—." Daniel got interrupted

"Hi, Jessica. I'm Doctor Owen." Doctor Owen shook Jessica's hand

"Hi *cough* nice to meet you." Jessica said

"Now, I hear that you and Will have this—thing in common." He smiled

"Yes sir." Jessica said

"Now, did you don't mind I would like you to come into Will's room with me, your brother can come along too." He smiled grabbing a wheelchair

Jessica was wheeled into Will's room to see everyone huddled around his bed.

"Jessica honey how are you?" Joyce smiled hugging the girl

"I've been better." She weakly smiled "you know, free of an oxygen mask, and slug free."

"Hey Will, do you know who these two people are?" Doctor Owen asked pointing to Mike and Daniel

"They're my friends, Mike and Daniel." Will slowly said

"What about me kid? Remember me?" Hopper asked

Will shook his head. He didn't know anything about last night.

"It upset him." Will glared at Doctor Owen

There was a flash of light. The Shadow Monster. It was there one second, then turned into a cloud, going into Will. Jessica couldn't breathe. She only saw the flash of grey clouds covering her.

Jessica sat in her wheelchair, nice and still until she couldn't breathe. She struggled to regain her breath, and keep still as Joyce rushed to her, grabbing the oxygen mask from the back of her chair, letting her breathe in it.
