Shit it was LOUD. And bright. Did they really need that many lights?! Jackie slowly stepped over to the mic center stage. Everything was going in slow motion, she knew she must've had a slack jawed look on her face. She vaguely heard Kaitlynn saying something into a mic as she got on the piano behind Jackie, "Wow, um, hey guys..." Kaitlynn said shakily, Jackie saw her wipe her hands on her dress one last time, "So I'm Kaitlynn, but you probably REALLY care about that amazing girl in front of me, JACKIE DAY," she laughed over the cheers. Jackie heard herself laugh too, "Oh shut up and play," Jackie winked, this wasn't so bad. Kaitlynn was shaking with laughter, "You actually start first dumba--stupid," She corrected herself. The crowd was laughing with them...Thousands of laughing people gazed expectantly at them. Jackie perched herself comfortably on the stool with her guitar. She was positioning the mic when something--someone--caught her eye. Josh. He had slipped out the backstage side door and stood in the corner, watching. Luckily it seemed he went unnoticed by the crowd. Jackie's breath caught in her throat, she didn't need distractions. She closed her eyes and strummed the first chords with practiced hands and sang, "There's no combination of words I could put on the back of a postcard..."
