Josh pulled away, dazed, "You...shouldnt have...done that..." he stammered and backed away slowly. Jackie couldn't hide her hurt expression, "But, I thought..." she trailed off uncertainly. Josh was suddenly angry, "Thought what? I have a GIRLFRIEND, Jackie!" He threw his hands in the air in exasperation, the indecision plain on his face, "I just can't end things with Scarlett..." Jackie felt her own anger bubbling up inside, "Why?!" she was almost yelling now, "I don't understand! You tell me you love me, you say I'm beautiful, you kick over a goddamned trash can for me, but we can't be together?!" Oh shit. SHIT, she wasn't supposed to say that. The silence following her outburst was suffocating. Josh went pale, "How...how much of that did you hear?" he whispered softly. "Enough," Jackie spun away from him, flushed. She walked away before he could see the tears.
