CHAPTER 22

The screaming after Louis' classic "Thank you for coming out here, you fans were absolutely incredible blah blah" speech was seriously deafness inducing. One Direction did their little waves goodbye to even more screaming as they ran offstage. The boys burst through the backstage door, telling Harry off and ruffling his sweaty curls. "Tsk tsk Harry you naughty boy," Liam shook a finger at him, "Embarrassing our new friends like that!"   Harry shrugged and gave them his cheekiest smile, "Sorry, love." Zayn punched his arm lightly, "Harry's even more of a badboy than me this time eh?" Jackie laughed, "It's okay, really. I just hope Josh uh," she cleared her throat as Josh walked in behind the boys with Dan, "doesn't mind..." Josh looked up shyly at her, "Hope I don't mind what?" he grinned mischievously. Jackie felt her mouth go dry, wasn't he angry? "Uh--I--" she stammered like an idiot until Louis stepped in, "She hopes you don't mind that she quite fancies you, Joshy boy," He winked, then looked like he realized something, "Oh...well now that's it's out there, too bad about Scarlett then love," he patted Jackie on the shoulder awkwardly. Niall looked like he was on the verge of hysterical giggling, "Well lads," he wiped his forehead and wiggled his eyebrows at Jackie, "We should probably get cleaned up." The others murmured in agreement and they drifted away to the dressing rooms after telling Jackie and Kaitlynn that they "smashed it" one last time. Jackie was watching them leave when Kaitlynn whispered in her ear, "I'm gonna go, don't follow me," she snickered softly, "Turn around and see who waited for you." Kaitlynn ran off giggling, curled hair bouncing behind her. Jackie turned around slowly to see Josh staring thoughtfully at her, "Sorry, could uh," he stuttered and blushed a little, "could I uh, talk to you?" Jackie could only nod. He gestured to the hallway and they walked down side by side.
