Chapter five

When I got home that night I ate a salad, since I hadn’t eaten any pizza. Eve sent me a text asking me to pick her Grayson, Ariel, and Nick up for school in the morning. Apparently Evelyn’s convertible needed to be cleaned because her top wouldn’t go up and it began pouring. Ariel’s dad needed her car for a business trip. So I agreed before I climbed into my bed wearing nothing but my thong.

I woke to my phone blaring loudly. I groaned as I got up and jumped into the shower. It didn’t take long to wash, dry, and curl my pixie cut. I put my makeup on, covering up how sick I looked. I went into my closet, and decided to wear my black sundress with the giant skull on the side. I paired it with my strappy black heels. I grabbed my backpack, keys and phone before running out to my truck. Josh ran after me with my medicine and a banana, and I thanked him before leaving.

I dialed Eve’s number while pulling out of my driveway.

“Hey girl, Nick stayed over last night, so the three of us are ready. Ariel is still at home.” Eve said as she answered.

“That’s fine, we have plenty of time before school starts.” I said.

“Yeah, hey! Grayson get back here with my coco puffs!” Eve yelled into the phone. I laughed silently at her before turning onto West street. “I hear your truck so I know you’re here, I’ll buzz you in babe.”

“Tell Ara to text me so I have her number.” Grayson said in the background. I heard Nick tell him to stop begging for my attention and I giggled.

The gates opened just as I pulled up, and I parked in the same spot as before. I climbed out of the truck and walked up the steps while staring down at my phone.

I glanced up in time to see Nick staring at me with wide eyes. “You look sexy as hell in that.” He whispered as he passed by me. I smiled slightly before hugging Evelyn, and smiling shyly at Grayson. He looked down at his phone, and back up to me before smirking. His arms found their way around my waste and his lips found my ear.

“I’m willing to do anything you want. Go on a date with me Ara, please?” He whispered.

I felt my eyes pop out of my head. “I’ll think about it…” I muttered.

“Don’t make me wait long.” He smiled at me before kissing behind my ear and strutting towards my truck.

I sighed dreamily as I followed him, and jumped into the drivers seat. I called Adrian on my phone and asked him to grab me a vitamin water from the gas station as I made my way down to Ariel’s with Grayson’s instructions.

I laughed at Ariel’s signature on her phone. It was certainly fitting for her. I pulled into her driveway and she ran towards the backdoor.

“Has anyone ever told you that your truck is way too big?” Ariel asked as she jumped to get into the back.

“Has anyone ever told you that you’re way too short?” I replied with a smirk.

“Hey! You’re just as short as me!” Ariel yelled back feigning anger. I winked at her in my rearview mirror as I pulled out and sped to the school.
