"Come on Daddy!" I screeched. His throaty laugh followed me throughout the carnival as I climbed through the fun houses and giggled at silly clowns.

"Slow down Meg! You're wearing me out baby!" Dad joked as he ran after me. I had been waiting for the Ferris wheel all day, but dad made me wait until night time so I could see all the lights for miles.

We boarded the cart, smiling and laughing as he pulled me into his warm embrace. This was the last time I would ever feel safe for a long time. This was the last time if be able to look my dad in the eye without having tears streaming down my face or puke staining my shirt.

We made it to the top of the giant wheel and I couldn't believe my eyes. Daddy had been right of course, he always was. The lights went on for miles, and they shined like stars. They were beautiful. I took a minute to appreciate the view before I felt the pain. It had been happening for a while now. My insides would start to hurt, and then I'd fall asleep for awhile. When I woke up I was always in a puddle that smelled like pee. Mommy says it's because I have a bad bladder, I think it's because I fall asleep and don't wake up in time to go to the potty.

My dad's arm tightened around my shoulders as we neared the top of the wheel a second time. The pain became worse than ever before, and I yelped.

Concerned eyes met mine, and that's when I started to shake. All of me was shaking ad I couldn't stop it. The darkness swallowed me as my dad yelled help over and over.

Woohoo! Great start? i think so, but then again i'm biased...
