A/N - Aren't I just great. Although my brain's frazzled now. 3 uploads in one day. Hope you enjoy this as much as I enjoyed writing it.

I stood there in utter shock. I just froze. A cold sweat dripped upon my head. Not the sweat from running, but the sweat from anxiety. My heart pounded like a drum, starting to beat faster. My eyes flickered uncontrollably. The breath caught in my throat, the fear choking me like a thick fog, blocking all rational thoughts from my mind. My feet remained rooted to the spot unwilling to move. The only thing I could hear was my own breathing which was coming out in shallow gasps. What was happening? I thought I saw something moving, but it was just my own imagination. Then it was there again. I wiped my eyes so I could see straight.

Tears were streaming down my face, and suddenly Nathan was stood in front of me and my body slammed against the wall. What the hell happened there? I looked up as Dylan punched Nathan in the gut, causing him to stumble backwards, and drop his gun. I suddenly felt all eyes on me as Nathan swooped down and picked up the gun before leaping towards me, grabbing my wrist and pulling me in front of him, his chest against my back. His heart was pounding faster than mine, if that was even possible.

With one swift movement, he raised his hand and pressed the barrel of the gun to my temple. I shuddered as the cold feeling of regret washed over me. We shouldn’t have come here. I looked up at Dylan who was rooted to the spot, his face white as a sheet, fear evident in his eyes.

“Maybe, now you’ll listen to what I say?” Nathan sneered, lingering his face close to my neck slightly longer than necessary. I choked out a sob of disgust and Dylan snapped out of the trance that was holding him captive.

“Leave her alone!” He shouted at Dylan, holding his hands up in surrender, slight colouring returning to his cheeks.

“Oh, but Dylan, this embrace is just so wonderful.” He moved his head closer to mine and brushed his lips over my ear.  I flinched at his touch and tried to move away from him, pushing him away, but he pulled me tighter and held his grip on me, with his arm wrapped around my neck.

“Please, Nathan, let me go” I pleaded with him. “I want to go home.” I grabbed his arm, tugging on it, gasping for breath as his grip got tighter on me.

“Ah, yes, home” he leered, grinning like a cat that got the cream. “Dylan Price. Dylan, Dylan, Dylan.” He ran his finger along my cheek and continued. “Dear Casey here, has something she wants to tell you, right, Casey?”

I shook my head. No. He can’t find out like this.

“Now, now, Casey, dearest. Don’t lie. It’s not an attractive trait. As Dylan says, he knows when you’re lying.”

I looked at Dylan and he looked between Nathan and I confused at Nathan’s statement. He didn’t know.

“Oh, Dylan, you’re so naïve. Maybe you and Casey really do belong to each other. Casey here knows now that I’ve been following you everywhere. I have this nasty habit. It’s a very nasty habit called breaking and entering. Except, I didn’t break anything, so I guess it’s not really” He chuckled. “but, if you check your living room, your bedroom, oh, and the kitchen” he smiled before continuing. “You’ll find some tiny little things that have allowed me to see and hear into your daily lives for the last 5 weeks.” Dylan’s eyes widened at the realisation of what’s been going on.

I looked up at Dylan with understanding. That’s how he’d known where we were. He didn’t actually have to follow us, he was just listening to every little thing we did and said. Even our house wasn’t safe. He’d broken into our house one night whilst we were sleeping and planted bugs all around the place. I felt sick again.

     “Dylan, I’m scared.”

“I know, I’m going to sort this.”

“Now, Casey, I want to see Dylan’s face when you tell him all about little Lola” I sobbed at the sound of her name. I just wanted to get home and be with my family. “You see, Dylan, Casey hasn’t been entirely truthful about Lola. Have you, Casey?”

That was it. Not able to control it anymore, I burst out crying, the sobs taking over me, I couldn’t stop them. “Dylan” I whispered through deep breaths. “It’s Lola, she’s-“

“No, Casey, it doesn’t matter. He’s not dictating your life. If you want to tell me something, you tell me in your own time. Not when he decides he wants to have a bit of fun. ”

     I nodded.

     Nathan grunted.

Dylan looked at me apologetically, before everything went out of control. Dylan pushed me out of the way to get to Nathan and lunged at him, punching him. Fury entered his eyes as he laid his fists on him. Nathan shoved Dylan off him and returned the punches, stopping briefly to reach for something.

My eyes darted to something shining on the floor that Nathan was reaching for and violently threw up upon realisation that it was a knife and Nathan’s hand was inching towards it, getting closer by the second.

Before I even thought about it, I swooped down to the knife and picked it up, causing Nathan to climb off Dylan and head my way.  Looking at it in my hand, I held it out in front of me and warned Nathan off with it.

“Don’t do anything stupid, Baby; you don’t want to be getting yourself hurt”

“Casey, don’t! Remember he’s not worth it!”

Nathan sniggered and lunged at me grabbing the knife off me and somewhere in the struggle I felt something hit my stomach. And suddenly everything was in slow motion. Looking down at my stomach, I screamed at the sight of blood pouring out of me. The knife hit the floor as Nathan dropped to his knees next to me.

“Dylan.” I spluttered. I gasped for breath as I stumbled slightly and looked up at Dylan who was struggling to get up from the floor.

     “Princess!”

Things were going fuzzy now, I couldn’t see properly. Stumbling back, I fell onto something behind me, and fell to the floor, struggling to breath. Voices were so far away, I couldn’t understand what was going on. I suddenly wasn’t scared anymore. It was peaceful. I lay on the floor, tears running down my face, and my thoughts drifted to Lola and all the times we’d spent colouring and playing on the Nintendo Wii Mum and Dad had bought her for Christmas. She’d had so much fun playing on there and even if she got tired, she was determined to carry on and would often need to be carried up to bed. My sweet little Casey, I was probably never going to see her again.

“Casey!” Dylan’s shouting brought me back to the present.

He rushed over to my side, bent down and pushed my hair out of my face, soothing me. At least I get to spend my final moments with the man I love.

“Casey, come on sweet pea, he’s not going to win, and we’re the good guys. Plus, you need to be around for Lola. She needs her mummy. You can’t leave us now. Lola’s going to get better and we’re all going to be fine, I promise.” He wiped the sweat off my brow before ripping off his shirt and using it, pressing down on the wound

Dylan’s eyes turned cold and he turned to Nathan, glaring at him, shouting obscenities at him through choked back sobs.

“Look what you’ve fucking done, you evil animal! You’re no man! You don’t stab a woman! You’ve got no right to be even breathing right now! You’re scum of the earth. ”

“Dylan” I was crying again. The peacefulness that was there previously was replaced by scary thoughts. I was going to die. I didn’t want to die.

“You’re going to regret making the decision to wreck our lives. I’m never EVER going to let you destroy us again!”

I turned my head and glanced through my tear stained eyes to see Dylan’s eyes dart between the gun and Nathan, who was still kneeling next to me just as the door burst open, and I heard a gunshot as I was pulled into the darkness.
